Will 18s work

i have an 09 and found some nice rims, the only thing is they only come in 18". will these fit ok if i lower the car 1.4" (and is that a low enough drop, i kinda want it to be low enough so the rims would look nice) i would like to see some pics and let me know how much lower the springs are.

You don't live in NYC!

Uneven pavement & Pot-holes will eat you up here.

The rim size won't really matter because the tire will make up for it meaning that the diameter of the tire+rim is the same not matter what the wheel size. 1.4" drop is PLENTY. Like they said above don't be speeding over and bumps with that setup!

You need to check the width of the rims, their offset, and lug pattern to be sure they will work on your MINI. The Tires, Wheels, & Brakes forum get this kind of question regularly. Check there and you should find the right specs for people using 18 wheels on a lowered R56.

You don't need control arms for that small of a drop.

I'm at about 1.50 front and 1.75 rear which evens the height out at 34" ground to bottom of wheel arch on all four corners.

Dropping your MINI any amount will increase camber.

a drop that low will not cause too much camber. i have a miata and it has -2deg of camber and the tires are wareing fine. youll probebly have less than that so you should be fine
