Yeah online it is $0.15 for buying more miles ahead of time. Whenever i go on a long road trip i calulate what it costs me at $0.20 a mile and put it in my new car fund. Already have $900 for my next mini down payment.

In other news: I called the dealer and told him thanks but not right now. Maybe in the spring when i am at the 36k mile mark.

I know you said that. It was you who clued me into the whole wash thing in the first place. However I doubt Prestige would want me to just roll up some day and say "how about a free wash". I would imagine I would have to be a paying customer of that dealership to get this treatment.

I get my car washed at least once a week at Prestige. They do an ok job but what do you expect? - It's FREE!

It will be most useful in the winter after it snows to get the salt off the car.

I vote save your money. You already have a great car. Wait a couple of years till they make a new transmission for these suckers. (Hopefully similar to a DSG) then buy yourself a new one.

I never let MINI wash my MINI, as the quality of the job is VERY poor.
I guess if I had a ton of things going on like I am sure I will 20 years from now I would let them wash it, but im in HS with nothing but time for friends and my MINI!!

I think you made the right decision.
I personally would keep your current Mini. I don't see any big "WOW" item in those deals. Most notably, I don't see a sport package. I'm certain they are nice vehicles though.

I think folks are going to start seeing more of this from dealerships, calling for sales, from all vehicle manufactures. I get it with my Toyota and it's been paid off for 3 years.
You made a good decision to wait until spring.

The lack of a sports package was my idea. On my March 07 the sports package included the sports suspension, now i don't see that as part of it any more. So really you are getting 17" rims, DTC, Xeons, Bonnet, and white turn signals. Is it really worth $1500? I would rather just spend the $100 on bonnet stripes, $500 on Xeons, and maybe maybe $500 on DTC (but probably not).

Going further off topic, what is DTC?

You can only upgrade to those if you get the JCW Flux Capacitor.

I've also seen the phrase "LSD" used in these forums... Something to do with a mini cooper?? I only know of one thing with those letters and it has nothing to do with taking a trip..... in a car.

Don't forget the space modulator.

Oh no! They've stolen the space modulator!

I think your Mini is giving it all she's got. You can't get any more power out of her even with the DTC.

Make the $500.00 turn into $1,000.00 for accessories because Mini does not have much under the $1,000. $500. 00 is just not enough to cover anything you would want. Also be sure that it includes installation charges.

Limited Slip Differential

With an "open" differential, when you lose traction with one drive wheel (for instance, on a tight curve where the weight shifts onto the outside wheel and the inside wheel begins to spin), most of the car's power will be sent to the spinning wheel... the path of least resistance.

With a mechanical LSD, a larger percentage of the power will be sent to the wheel that still has traction, allowing you to accelerate out of corners sooner.

Dynamic Traction Control gives you an electronic Limited Slip Differential, or eLSD. In this case, the car senses the inside wheel spinning faster than the outside wheel and applies braking so that the differential (which is still technically an open differential) will send more power to the outside wheel, which has traction.
