Y'all gotta forgive Capt BJ, he's a "glass half empty" kinda guy. Enjoy the trophy, a win is a win.
I think it would be rather difficult finding a post where he actually liked something.

Dale...I could really care less about getting a trophy at a car show...If I win that is awesome, means someone liked all the effort I put into my car and another trophy to put in the shop, office and the kids room.

What really set me off is Major BJ has an attitude that car shows should be a national event and those are the only ones that matter...Dont think BJ could even understand what Grass Roots means...

I know many of the NAM members have gone to many shows and most are judged by class, or catagory maybe a clean and shine, but almost always judged by members of the club hosting the show or just other car people and sometimes a celebrity judge. I have judged many shows myself. I watched as these judges went about their business, they took it serious and knew it was important to the folks there because they realize our cars are importantto us. They did a great job and I know many there felt the same way.

Thank God that people like BJ are far and few between....or I would not want anything to do with car shows or cars for that matter. BJ propably never wins anything, and thats OK, but grow up will ya. Must be sad to be in his world.

I give credit to anyone who wants to do good...most car people are very benevolent and do good things for a cause. Its what makes our hobby so great.

My offer still stands to BJ if you want my trophy..I will pay shipping.

Red Bull's car looks AMAZING! That is the sexiest Cooper S I have ever seen. I personally would not paint the wheels black. Thats just me. Enjoy your Cooper. Ever one of these should come with painted arches. :-)

My Mini looks very similar to that dark silver won that won (even has the same JCW kit, etc) ...yet I did opt for Black wheels on mine and I get compliments nearly everywhere I drive.

I think that most Mini's look great w/ silver and black wheels -just incase you do decide to go w/ black wheels!

-Oh, congrat's on the win!

Perhaps a nice shade of brake dust for those wheels

Congratulations to all the trophy recipients! Very nice looking MINIs.
Too bad you all did not make the All British "Brit Bash" show on November 1st in Melbourne ~ we could always use more MINI representation.

Please be sure and check the SunShine MINIs site http://www.sunshineminis.org/ for upcoming Florida events. I try and post things when I see them as I enjoy being at car shows. I'm just BA over there.

FWIW: Capt_bj is very good people, he's helped me with maintenance and upgrades on my S numerous times ~ and has offered to assist others too. Most of the time, we have been the lone Mini/MINI entrants in local car shows.

my $.02 ~ I would have preferred the "Space Coast Mini Nationals" to be associated with an All British Show .... but the "owner" of that moniker has his own agenda.

that can be frustrating

Thanks for the lead...we will keep an eye out for other shows in Florida.

As for BJ, I spoke my mind and really don't care to put any more effort into the negative and focus on the good stuff. Like I said he is a non issue for me and going to move on.

capt bj,

please know that i am not trying to take any sides. but after read comparing your comment and red bull's comment. you just scared me with this and that rules in your deep thought.

i prefer to drive 100 miles to pay $ to enter and park my mini cooper s next to red bull's jcw rather than drive only few blocks to pay $ and park mine next to yours. i am not worth to be in your high "class" anyway. i am just grass root to enjoy looking at your classic car and it doesn't matter to me if it is nation or location. if you are so shame of the "location" title then i perhaps think you are shame of me too. i am deaf and minority which is smaller than your large nation.

red bull, congratulation on your 1st place trophy. but you also made my misty eyes when you spoke up for good cause more than about your jcw. you made me feeling like i want to say loud "i am proud to be american!"

ronnie, you deserve the sportmanship tropy.

Glad your part of the hobby....for me anyway, car shows were about people sharing a common intrest. Its great because it dosen't matter if you have a Ferrari or an old Honda that is someones pride & joy. To the person who has the old Honda and is saving every penny to purchase wheels feels just as proud of his car as does the Ferrari owner. I think some miss the point...I do not care for those who think there better than the rest.
... No need to be a

Maybe we will run into each other at a show one day....now how about a photo of your MCS

OH, bye the way I want to thank Major BJ..you have made this Trophy my most important one we have...
