exactly. Think of them as high beams, you don't drive around with them on all the time. I don't see why a cop can't give you a ticket for it. I sure would.

The lens is white, but the bulb is colored (red for brake, amber for turn.) Note that at least in CA, you are supposed to add red reflectors to the rear if you have white brake assemblies.
