R56 anyone get their exhaust letter today?
I think it only applies to the S model, as the tailpipe is in the center.
"...some Cooper S owners have contacted the centrally-located tailpipe extension...."
I wonder if there's a waiver I could sign so I don't have to get the stubby tailpipes.

Got my letter yesterday but I won't do anything about it since I have the JCW exhaust and not the stocker anymore. My JCW is already tucked under more than the stocker.
Hey did you hear about the recal on all motorcycles in the US? I guess they can no longer have exposed exhaust pipes.
Okay, I've been off NAM'ing for 1 week and just got this letter yesterday. WTF? Who's the weenie that complained about their exhaust pipe?? What does this person do around the stove? I have kids and the first thing they learn in life is "Hot". They know not to touch hot things like BBQ's, fire and EXHAUST PIPES. Arggghhhh, can you tell I am pissed?! I LOVE my exhaust pipes, it's one of the things everyone comments on.
So, here are my questions:
1) I have the JCW pipes -do they have to be chopped?
2) Is this mandatory? -like when I bring my car in for an oil change?
3) If they are just giving us a shorter end pipe piece, i'll just bring my Mini in w/ my end piece removed and then take off their short one when I get home and replace w/ my JCW pipe (that I paid extra for).
I sent an email to Miniusa.com ...told them how happy I was to remove this apparant danger from our cars!
