Hi everyone, sorry i'm new here, don't know if this post goes where it supposed to go. I checked in soo many posts, but cant find an answer. Most of you writing that the sound signal is depend on your factory alarm, so i do have the factory alarm, but i have only the option for the visible confirmation of the door lock. I do not even see an option for the sound option... despite if people like it or not, i just would like to know, why i do not have this option...
Maybe someone knows....

 

I do have the alarm option on my '12 MCS.

As such, I have the option through the menus via the left column stalk to get the audible chirp on arm and disarm; its a speaker icon that is either crossed or not.
Same with the visual (light flash) - its a lamp that is either crossed or not as a choice in the same menu.

If you are sure you have the alarm option, you may want to speak to the dealership for assistance...

I attached a picture of the screen i get with the options for the confirmation... no acoustic is available :-(... i cant really go to any dealer here, i live in Thailand and my car is a so called grey import from the UK. If i show up at the Mini Dealer they will refuse to service my car

 

Just as a confirmation, do you have the red LED over the speedometer that pulses then later blinks to indicate the alarm is armed?

yes i do have the LED that pulses then later blinks and just to make sure, i also tried my alarm... so i really have no idea :-(

Is the on/off chirp only available on later models? (Doubtful to me...)
