Need replacement bumper info...

Hello all!

Got a small dent in my rear bumper today... No need for details...

I have already crawled under the car, and I see no damage to the carrier or foam or anything else.

I want to replace the rear bumper (and I will look into getting it repaired as well, but there does not look to be many bumper repair places here on the east coast).

I have found the part numbers I need here:

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...26&hg=51&fg=15

Is there anything else from that list I would need, or just the panel and some spare plastic expanding rivets? (And a paint job, as they come primed only it seems...)

I am a DIY kind of guy, but was wondering if anyone else had any experience with say mounting the Aero kit and had a lessons learned...

Thanks!

James

I think there might be two pairs of clips behind the bumper that are a 1 time use only. So when you pull the bumper cover off they snap. At least that's what I was told when I had my bumper cover repainted.

You have to take the arches on the fender off.
Those little trim snap holders (dont know the name)
are very easy to break.

When I replaced my fender, I believe I broke 2 of the fastener clips before realizing that they were meant to be pushed out, rather that 'popped' .
A guy who workes in service at BMW said that there is a tool (or used to be anyway) that you could buy that can make removing the fender intact very easy. If you are buying from a Mini dealership, I would recommend that you ask them to throw in a couple extra fasteners (they're like a dollar a piece)!
