R56 Blackberry Bluetooth - Dropping Calls
Blackberry Bluetooth - Dropping Calls
I'm looking to get a Blackberry to replace my Sanyo Katana phone. My only real complaint w/ my Mini is that the Bluetooth drops my phone's calls. Because I'm going to go w/ AT&T (since my wife is getting an iPhone), it looks like the only Mini-approved Blackberry is the 8700c. Has anyone had problems w/ other Blackberry's - either in terms of syncing the phone book or dropping calls? I've got my eye on the new G3 Blackberry (supposed to be comming out at the end of the month) but may end up going w/ the older 8700c if that's the only 'approved' one and people have had issues w/ dropped calls on using other Blackberry models w/ their Minis...Please let me know your thoughts.
Brian, It is your lucky day as I work for a major wireless company and work 0.5 miles from the Mini Dealership. I have a long standing relationship with the manager and he sends me alot of business for my employees as well. I had a chance to sync up quite a few phones to the Mini and the one that has worked for me the best and that I still use is the BB curve 8320. No drops, full phonebook sync, no issues what so ever. Do not worry that it is not listed on the Mini - approved site, it works perfect. That site is way off. Also, hold off on that new BB Bold. It is rather large and heavy, like the 8800 and BB is having issues with the software. 2 new BB slated for realease in the 4th Q, one will be a flip. One last note, the real reason your having dropped calls is your network. I guarrantee your on Sprint.

It's one possibility, others have had similar problems with power saving modes disabling Bluetooth- it's one thing to check. There's also other phones out there that drop calls and it's been tracked back to the phone, but I haven't heard anything like this with the Katana.
