Driving lamps and fog lamps

Is it true that your driving lamps and fog lamps will ONLY come on with your high beams? Miniusa told me that if the toggle switch for your driving lamps was on, they would be on. What's the deal here. Thanks for any assistance.

The fog lights are switched and will turn on if your parking lights or headlights are on. Fog lights shut off with the high beams.

The driving lights are also switched and will only turn on when your high beams are on.

not to hijack this thread, but to add another question..? Are the driving lights really for "looks" only?

Mine are!
But only because I'm currently installing a 6 switch panel to control the Driving Lights from the central toggle system instead of having a seperate switch off to one side.
Otherwise the driving lights come in really handy on the dark mountian roads that are full of deer and other creatures waiting to jump on my MINI.

Love ours and use them often, but as we would high-beams.
Couple them with Xenons like we have and it turns night into day

Wouldn't have another MINI without them.

I found a marked improvement in the driving light quality and crispness by changing out the OEM H8 bulbs with Hoen H8 XenonMatch bulbs. I have used Hoen bulbs on most of my cars and greatly improves the light characteristics.
Here are pre and post Hoen install pics...the whiter light of the Hoen's define things better>>>

Hoen H8

For those who might be hesitant to add the additional 'ralley style' driving lights.
