steve216 Congrats on the new purchase, and the fact that you stepped into the "manual" world of drivership.
My father wouldn't allow any of us kids have a license until we mastered a manual tranny. His way of thinking was (as is mine, go figure) once you know how to drive standard you can drive anything, which is basically true.
When I met my wife, first thing I did was teach her how to drive standard.
My kids have never owned a Automatic vehicle, were both taught at an early age and never suffered burnt out "learners clutch".

Excellent, if you ever have a "bad day" in the future then don't be discouraged, because it's completely normal.
