So a few weeks ago I took advantage of ALTAs sale on some unpolished DPs. I bought it for about 120-130 dollars less than the polished one on there webpage. I ordered a SS polish kit from Caswell electroplating. The kit was awesome, I feel good about how it turned out, AND THE FACT THAT ALTA SAVED ME MONEY, (However Im sure they will get what I saved sometime soon anyhow), not bad for the first time. This was hard work, Before and after, the turbo DP portion next to the bottom exhaust ,Polished before final coat of shine.

 

Wow! That looks really good. Those parts came with the same finish right? That's impressive.

 

Yep they came out the box in a completely RAW and unfinished. I wish I bought some more....But nobody wanted this set either, I decided to polish her and throw her under the hood tomorrow!!!! These are the original picks from ALTA's Post, ALTA hope you dont mine me borrowing your pics, I promise not to sell them!

 

The polishing looks great but more importantly, let us know how it works when you get it on.

SO I put the DP on today, Man oh man was that damn heat shield a pain!!!! I am very comfortable working on cars, but WTH was MINI thinking....Oh YA, the sure did their best to make it hard for Us to tune. I already had the catback on the care and its got brake-in done, with the addition of the DP, I did notice huge HP increase, I dont need a DYNO to tell me I gained Horsepower with this mod. Disclaimer, no laws were broken in the filming of these vids.
