Check out Classic Auto Campus @ 440-205-6404. They are a vendor here and will give NAM members a discount. They beat any price I could find. Shipping is thru the roof. I got 3 filters for $36.35.

My local deale sells the filter (with o ring and I assume copper washer) for list price, $9.78. Easy to buy, reasonable price, would be interested in a better deal but this could be worse.

Count your blessings.

At Downtown MINI in Orlando today (did look like the 'high rent district), I was charged $19.28 for one M144 p/n 11-42-7-557-012 SET OIL-FI
which included a copper ring and 'O'-Ring.
For the 'MINI' Oil, it was $6.20 ea. for six Quarts or a total of $60.17 w/tax.

It should be three years before I will pay for this stuff again and wanted to be sure to use same as MINI will use for my next three 'annual' free services.

They did have a showroom mostly full of nice looking used R53's and three New R56's. They told me they were still selling at MSRP (+ about half the Prep other area dealers charge).

You're not the only one I've seen getting charged very high prices for the filter. I'll find out today when i go to pick up the filters if it was a mistake on the phone, otherwise Classic Mini will be getting my business. Buy 5 or 10 and be good to go.

I got mine from Morristown Mini for $7.75. It is not on their website so you need to use the comments box to ask them how much they are and they will respond within 24-48 hours.

Shipping is not included.

If you would bought 10, shipping would've been the same... but yes, you have to buy at least 5 to get your moneys worth.

I saw how different the OEM filters looked from the Mahle ones so I went with the OEM. It was just a decision based on looks.

Mahle is an OEM supplier for BMW for a very long time. I have been using their filters since 1992.
