R56 Where to get the cheapest OEM oil filter?
Not only is the MANN filter not the same as the OEM filter, and does NOT come with the crush washer
, my MINI service tech (good guy -- also rides in my club) said that this one had degraded rather severely (was coming apart structurally) for the mere 5000 miles that it had on it when he did the service. (I installed this filter at six months during my own oil-change, between the car's first filter and the OEM filter that he installed at the one-year dealer's oil-change.)
He has no stake either way -- but advised to only use these as "in-betweener" (5000-7500 miles max) filters, the ones between my yearly free dealer oil-changes until I get rid of them ... and after this, go buy the genuine OEM filters online at ClassicMINI or any of the other dealers who discount them.

yea, I get my OIL from German Filters, not the filter. I was just making the comment that the company was an OK supplier. I get the filter from MiniMania.
