Do I need Help??

I ordered my mini June 16th and the first week I did not check the mini lounge at all BUT since then I have checked it everyday. My wife laughs at me but I am greatly anticipating a production number. Is there a thread for people waiting to get a production number . I guess while waiting I will try to come up with a name. It is the lightning blue so I am thinking of some Chicago Cub referenced name (my dogs are already named wrigley and addison so those are taken).

You should get the Production Number very early in the process, no? Have you asked your MA, he/she probably already has it.

You can't register w/ the Owners Lounge w/o a Production Number or VIN, btw.

My bad I have a production #. When tracking the car it is still listed as "on order". Really I am just impatient/anxious for the little fellow to be built.

No, you don't need help - completely normal. I was the same way back in 02....

Yes, perfectly normal, welcome to the cult. You only have a mild case if you're only checking once a day. I had the same in 05, 07 and 08, my wife did 04 for us. 05 was the worst, waiting 6 weeks for in production, its better these days, it was in production the first time I checked.

Once its in production, you have the production to track, then the transportation to track. I thought the First Gear forum handled this sort of thing, once you get a production weeks you can join your week specific thread. There's also the ordering/tracking forum on the lounge.

If it makes you feel any better, I ordered on 6/12 and my MINI isn't expected until the first week in September! I haven't even bothered checking ASK-MINI (OK, I did once), but this gives me plenty of time to 2nd-guess my configuration.

Are you on the west coast? I know people on the west coast tend to get their cars 2 weeks later than east/midwest.

Now you need to go over to the First Gear forum and read the thread "How to Track Your MINI". It's not about racing. If you have a production number, you can find your vin, you can probably find out what cruise ship your baby will be partying on. Lots of stuff your MA probably doesn't know. Also be sure to check on the police blotter for the Southampton docks. Some MINIs (I'm pretty sure Bimini either wasn't involved or at least didn't get caught) get a little crazy waiting on the ship. And on some ships the party is better than others.

And you're not really sick until your production week thread exceeds 400 posts. Mine has 790 (as of just now).

No, just the opposite. I'm on the East Coast (western NY). I think my MA told me the day after I ordered they (this particular dealer?) moved to September builds. Don't take my word on that 'cuz that doesn't seem possible but that's my confused memory for you...

I think that we all need a little help..

The whole "Mini" experience starts from the configurator and just gathers acceleration from there. Quite the marketing/sales juggernaut they've (BMW / Mini) created . And everything else (NAM, MC2, etc..) within this subculture keeps the momentum going..

My baby docks in Jersey City on 7/7. My MA says I should have in my hot sweaty hands buy 7/15.

Definitely go to 1rst gear forum.

I need help attempting to speed time up, or go into suspended animation until my MA calls.

I have been tracking my stork, er, boat Integrity since it set sail multiple times a day. Calm seas, low wind.

Help meeee, heeeellllppp meeeee.
Ed
