We tend to get waves back on a regular basis, and people turning to look at the MINI even more often... Just today a guy in a nice Z4 craned his neck to watch us as we passed him. Gotta love knowing people are ogling your MINI.

I feel bad for you guys/gals not getting wave backs. For the past two days driving to/from work I have gotten at least one wave in both directions, and got waves from 4 Minis in one trip yesterday.

I think it's helping that I use my flashers way in advance of actually crossing paths, that usually catches the other driver's attention. Not to mention I have become a bit obsessed with spotting them, it's almost like a game now

I always wave. The best waves you get are when you are on a club ride from people on the side of the road. I wave at all british cars and always seem to get a wave back especially the older MGs and triumphs.

Man that sucks! I was going to comment that I just finished driving about 500 miles in the last couple of days, and that I only received about two waves from the 9-10 MINI's that I saw (although some couldn't really wave since it was so fast and their windows were up). But your experience has me beat by a mile. That really sucks! I absolutely don't understand that. How is it possible for someone to own a MINI and to not feel anything for the rest of the brother/sisterhood. Next to driving my MINI, getting waves is just about the next coolest thing ... having to do with MINI's that is!

I now only attempt the "wave" once a day now. I see about 3-5 MINIs a day on my short 5mile commute. Maybe one day they will wave back

I was wondering if driving a Mini would be the same as driving a Vette.
Short answer: It is! Some will wave and flash, some won't.

I've had the Mini for less than a week and have gotten some waves. I've owned the Vette for 20+ years and have about a 50% wave ratio.

I am guilty of the non-wave too. Short answer: I drive aggressively.

The good news is that I'll be able to make up for it once my MINI arrives. I'm a waver too, so if I cross paths with any of you, prepare to be acknowledged!

I did "the Mustang thing" for several years, and I've got to tell you that the 'Stang community leaves much to be desired. Less of a brotherhood and more of sibling rivalry, if you ask me!

I wave at all MINIs - even when I am not in my MINI. Usually if they see you, they will wave back. I average about 60% wave-back. I even get waves from non-MINIs. Once, on the highway, I had an entire group of guys in a pickup truck waving maniacly at me - they were all tickled and high-fiving when I waved back. Waving is a great MINI thing.

With dark tinted windows and the glare on the shield, it is hard to see the wave. That's my excuse.

I've had my MINI for about a month and I haven't seen any other MINI owners close enough to wave at them . It's probably because San Jose seems to have very few MINIs.

I did drive behind a MCS today but he sped away and didn't even bother to look as we drove side-by-side.

I saw two other MINIs today, and since it was such a nice day, had the windows open. ..... I waved with arm all the way out, so EVERYBODY saw me waving, and the two I saw were guilt-tripped into waving back. A wave without a smile/enthusiasm isn't as nice, but maybe they'll see the community side of it...?

You gotta wave every time if you want to have a right to be disappointed when you don't get one in return!

And to the nice lady in the mellow yellow MC who waved as she zipped through the intersection of Central and Harwood in Beford, TX today: I waved back, I swear.

Mini men drivers don't wave back, only kids or wives or women drivers wave back, so strange.

I did a couple of hundred mile jaunt on Wednesday and I was 5 for 5 with people waving back. Seems to work here in Oregon.

When I used to have my modified M3, my wifey always thought I was lame for giving the thumbs up to not just bimmerheads, but rice rockets too. Now that I'm in the Mini, I haven't had one single person give me a wave yet in the Bay Area in months?!?!

Apparently, when my wifey drives this car, she gets hit on by everybody including the guys at my barbershop?! WTH? One time her amateur photography friend had a local BMW meet for a 5 car photoshoot and they totally ignored the "coolness" of the Mini?!

Where's the love Bay Area? Where's the love?

I think the lack of MINI love in California is because everyone has one. I swear, every street in my area has at least one parked either on the street or in a driveway.
