I kind of like it actually. But I can't tell how big it is, does anybody know?

I'm buying a Clubman, but I would have bought the Crossman instead if it was available. I think it looks great!

I like it, except for the headlights, very similar to the headlights on the first concept version of the new Mini, way to slanted. Otherwise I think its perfect, even nicer than the clubman.

It needs to be lighter and get better gas mileage then the other comparable SUV/SAV's out there, and it will sell like crazy.

I know a lot of people out there love the way the Mini looks, but I always get the same comments, it's too small in the back, I have kids, it needs 4 doors.
The Clubman in IMHO doesn't address these issues, the extra few inches of leg room and the tiny suicide door (on one side) is just not enough for some.

The Crossman can be everyones car now, so much for our little niche car that was sort of exclusive. BMW's not stupid, they want to sell to the masses.

Now one good thing I can see out of this is the possibility of an AWD Cooper S.
AWD and about 250hp please, and that would be very cool, no more torque steer yeah!!!.

Ditto. They almost look horizontal. I don't get it.

I don't hate the SUV look since I know that it is still small and efficient, but I've already said that if anyone totaled my R56 MCS, I'd go for a Clubman to make it more comfortable for the family with two kids.

I would buy a Crossman today. I love my Mini, but I still have my Xterra and I need it for winter and carrying the pets around. The Crossman would be perfect for me. I hate supporting two cars.

Hmmm... start with a girly car and "butch" it up.

My guess this vehicle is not really intended for the true SUV market, it is intended for the snowbelt. I live in outside Boston and in my town, every home's 2nd car is Awd, including mine, a Honda Element. The typical buyer is not looking to off road - just to stay on the road when the snow hits. If this thing delivers 28-30MPG, it will take off. As a Clubman owner, I'm already comfortable with the basic shape. An AWD with only a 1 or 2 mpg penalty would have been a no-brainer for me. Besides, I would leave off all the rally stuff that clutters the look and it would likely be a twin to the Clubman - just a few inches taller and a few pounds heavier. But if you hate the look of the Clubman.......

I like everything about it. I am not a SUV AWD guy but if I change my mind I will definitely consider this. When are they starting production?

I want that car (truck) whatever!

If this will be available soon, I'll buy one, depending on how I like my new S, ordered on May 31st. Frankly, living in the upper midwest, the SUV makes a whole lot more sense. I'd give up the turbo for an SUV that looks like this and gets 36 MPG highway.

I think the one thing that makes it ugly (IMHO), is the grill--it's too sad/mad for me. It needs to somehow bring a little upturn to what seems to be even more of a downturned grill than the "regular" MINI. I don't mind the rest so much.

What is the reason you say this, about the snowbelt?

If that's really the look, it's not for me. Way too busy, with lots of trim looking like it was tacked-on. Roof rails are a plus, however, I wish the Clubman had them as an option, as I really don't care for the add-on rack currently offered on the Clubman.

doesn't look any worse than the R56. Yes, I own an R56. It's fun to drive! Or that's my answer regarding the appearance of the Mini.

I could tell a similar story as minicobra1 does. I had the same complaints about the back seat, etc. I just ordered a Clubman -- it does improve the back seat enough.

However, when my lease is up...I will look at the Crossman. Key thing, though, is keeping it Mini. To me, that means preserving the best combination of fun-to-drive and fuel economy ever on 4 wheels.

I'd consider it if they put in AWD, otherwise, no way.

I would not recommed attaching the word "ugly" to any MINI based on the Photoshop renderings in the car mags which are all fake, or even the concept versions. Sure, if you have an opinion, fine, but we've seen this same premature tempest-in-a-teapot churned up with R56 and the Clubman and, in the end, things turned out fine. We all have our MINI of choice, but the designers have done pretty well thus far and I see no reason to jump to any conclusions simply due to media mis-direction. Same goes for photos, which I have grown very mistrustful of in that they tend to distort proportions in a subtle way I never imagined possible.

Don't get me wrong...I'll be watching all the spy pics and drawings, too, but unless I see a real red flag on a real car (which frankly I don't expect), I plan to give the design team some credit and leeway so I can at least understand the motivation for their design decisions. I believe, at this point, that those who find the Clubman aesthetically pleasing will have little trouble with the Crossman.

Did anyone read the article?

It's out on road tests, those aren't photoshops pics.
It will be AWD.
It will not be available unit 2010.
Current engines are planned for initial launch.

I think it's okay and needed to compliment the MINI line, and like said earlier, I would love to see the pick-up car/truck model available. I saw one recently in Germany and drooled, it was killer and the old man had the bed full. Wood interior and wood floor in the back.
