is PDC usefull on MCS?

Hi everyone,

i build my MCS and still dont know if i should get PDC. Is it really needed on a small car like the MINI?

I tried to find pictures with the PDC. Does anybody has it and has some pictures online?

Thank you

I have it because I have a Cabrio. It's nice but I'd not spend extra on it... It is standard on a Cabrio

I say pass on PDC, unless you have backed into other cars in the past.

When you look behind you in a MINI hatch, the glass basically IS the end of the car. I can only imagine someone needing PDC in a MINI hatch if they have absolutely no patience or coordination with anything relating to backing up. [LOL]

I do understand having it in the convertible; the rearward visibility in those is rather bad so the PDC is an asset.

The PDC sensors are much like other brands' sensors; there are 4 body color round discs about 3/4" in diameter across the rear bumper.

My Cooper S was bought off the lot. It has PDC. Pretty worthless on a car this size. I would much prefer comfort access!

to quote a well known British movie (James Bond Goldeneye) "Use the bumper thats what it's for"

hahaha just back into stuff.

That set aside, the rear bumper is sooo small, that if you just back up till your rear window is just about at the object behind you, you will be fine.

I like the PDC. With the high waist of the car, the visibility of low objects is not that good. You can see the grille of an SUV, but not how far its bumper sticks out. The PDC will let you get in very tight places with less worry.

With the NAV, the graphic lets you see where low obstructions are located.

I'm not the most adept at parking, especially in reverse, and even moreso that I'm driving a manual now. I've yet to even bump something with the MINI. The back window really is the back of the car, just stop when it looks like you're close. Unless it's a cabrio, you can see everything you need to see. The extra $$ may be worth it to you if you have really small children who run around your car when you're backing out of the driveway... otherwise, in my opinion... not so much.
