'08 MCSa Hitch Recommendations

Hi All,

I'm planning on installing a hitch on my new Mini to tow the same trailer I use with my Goldwing.

What type of hitch did you that tow install and where did you purchase it?

TIA for any help you can offer!

Best Regards,

1 Big Skeeter

Mini Do More makes a nice hitch. They don't list the Clubman but you might email them and see if they have one in the works.

Thanks MINIDRIVR!!

I've sent them an email to see if they make a hitch to fit my '08 Mini Cooper S.

Hitch

Hi, I decided on the Minidomore model for pulling my catamaran. I just got the shipment and installing it this weekend. I am going to take pics. I will post them once I complete the job. MCS 2008.

I went the Minidomore route, installed it myself without any problems. Works great, mostly using for bike rack or small utility trailer at the moment. I believe it is rated for higher capacity than the minifini one, plus you don't have to spend a bunch of extra cash on all the "attachments". Also, no funny attachment studs sticking through the bumper grille when it's not being used.

MiniFini is the way to go. Super nice looking and excepts bike rack, trailer and more. I have the hitch and bike rack and love it.

MiniFini.com

Isn't that about $1000 dollars in Minifini stuff, vs $325 Minidomore hitch and then you can use any standard bike rack or hitch draw bar?

I'm sure it works fine along with their accessories, but you are locked in to using only their accessories and at quite a price.

IMHO, just doesn't seem very practical.

I also went with the MiniDoMore hitch on my 08 MCSa because of the number of standard 1-1/4" accessories that will fit it. I had someone install mine and wrote a thread about it here. In my case I'm glad I had a pro help me because I didn't know what to expect and didn't want to mess it up.
