R56 Anthracite headliner and sunroof?
Anthracite headliner and sunroof?
After reading everything on this site, the one thing I find to be a given is the anthracite headliner. Everybody says get it, the best/cheapest upgrade for the interior. My question is do you still get it if you are getting a sunroof? And I still have not really seen what it looks like - compared to the standard headliner.
It depends on your color choice for the interior. Mine is Black cloth, Piano Black dash with Chrome and Red colorline. The dove gray would have looked out of place. I also have the sun roof. The anthracite, in my opinion, unifies the interior.
Get it! My MCS is DS/B with sunroof and the interior is black and dark gray leatherette(standard), piano black dash, chrome line interior, and anthracite. Looks awesome and just like callahan00 said it just brings everything together..
I have the standard "grey" (looks more white to me) headliner and I really like it. However my car is a Chili red with white roof, mirror caps and a white set of stripes. I think the interior would lOOk odd with the anthracite, but to each their own taste :-) Oh and I have the sunroof as well, I love it.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I should be more specific in my question - since the sunroof take up so much of the roof, why buy an upgraded headliner? Is it more than just the roof headliner? Is it just the color that makes it appealing?
I wish you could click on the option pix on the MINIUSA websight so that you get a better look.
Thanks

Needless to say the anthracite headliner wasn't even on my radar either.
I like the look of black/white with a carbon fiber accent. However, neither the AB or PW are true black and white. See, these are the thoughts that consume me. And I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that there will be a new cream/white interior? I know I read it, but can't for the life of me find it.
I have the black lounge leather with piping. yellow color line, piano black trim, interior chrome. I got the dark headliner and sunroof as also. If I had picked the gray headliner it would have looked out of place since it would be the only thing that color. I really like how the interior looks in the car!
Strat, why don't you tell us what your paint color, roof color, etc. is and how you have configured the colors inside. I really think the AH goes better with some interiors primarily cuz the standard grey one does not. I have a MY/B with black stripes and my interior is completely stock...I don't know what the AH would have looked like, but the great headliner does lighten things up a bit inside. It doesn't clash with anything.
Strat,
IMO... After the rear fogs, it's one of the best options to get especially if you are looking at a dark interior. I have the Rooster Red/Black interior and it compliments it really well.
Also, the mood lighting seems to stand out more with the darker interior.

Strat, I got the PW/B with the Redwood Leather and English Oak, it works great with the Chrome interior and Anthracite. Trust me, if you want a classic yet modern look, check it out! I'll post pics at some point soon...
Thanks scottbue. I'd really like to see pictures of it. As I stated earlier, I feel like I have to have this option even though I'm not sure what it looks like.
Geo Metro Gray
If you don't get the anthracite headliner, you are stuck with what my friend calls "Geo Metro gray"...about as attractive as it sounds. With Pepper White this is a big no-no. Of course, the good folks at MINI know this too, as it was a no-cost option for one year only.
