I'm pretty sure that is Hyper Blue (or maybe Indi Blue) since it is an R53. Great lookin car though!

How do you tell the diff between the R53/R56 from the side especially? I know the rear with the fogs and the front lights..

You can tell by the marker lights by the front fenders. That is an R53 in Indi Blue. Very beautiful color, unfortunately it has been retired.

its hyper blue- i have an HB/W it looks so awsome with white rims too
you can tell the difference because the first gen is not huge... and the side lights : )

I can just tell by the size/porportions. Also the side repeaters and there is no ugly rear honeycomb type grill (you can see just enough on this one!), like on the R56.

It looks like Indi Blue to me, but I've been wrong before. Actually it looks just like mine, but it's far to clean to be mine

The side repeaters are more elegant than on my r56.

I wonder what inspired MINI to make this change for the worse.

the taillights are pre 05, so im 90% certain it'd be a indi blue

For the life of me, I cannot tell the difference between Hyper Blue and Lightning Blue. Not that I'm complaining, they are both absolutely gorgeous colors, but it just sort of feels like a name change
