R56 How is your MPG?
I should have noted these were both automatics.
Mine is typically off by 2-3. Just today, avg. consumption said 30.2, and actual was 27.5. That's combined, with freeway speeds averaging 73 mph.
Hand calculated btw.
After 22 tanks of gas, I have discovered that my OBC for MPG's is a P.O.S.!
Variance between actual (hand calculated) MPG's and the computer is between about 6% to 12%....very unreliable in my book. My last tank was off by just over 8%; OBC said 34.2 mpg's, but I calculated 31.5. The OBC always seems to be on the optimistic side, too... I guess that MINI is trying to make us all smile, and their thought is that this would be a good way to do it.
Is anyone working on a fix for this? Or is it the brand of sensor/type of program that MINI/BMW uses? Do BMW's have this same problem?

. I still wonder how some people are getting 450-500 miles on a tank. I'm no lead foot, and the best I usually get is ~ 375 miles with one bar left.FYI, I also have a 2002 BMW X5, and the OBC mileage is dead on accurate!
Mine was exactly 8% optimistic on the last tank as well

Maybe a silent recall for customers like us (who have nothing better to do) to reprogram the thing?????
I am below the sticker to. I drive a 2008 MCS and I believe it's mainly because of:
1) These numbers are found in a lab
2) I live in an area which is filled with ups and downs
3) Traffic
4) My "spirited" teenage driving behaviour
