washer fluid

So today I hit the window cleaner cause of all them damn bugs hitting my car and I get a warning that my washer fluid is apparently low. I have only had my MINI for 8 months and don't often use the washer. Anyone else with this problem? Can I buy any ol' washer fluid from my local pep boys and just plop it in there? or should i go to mini and get it done?

hehe i wouldnt say it running out is a problem. but yes bugs are very difficult to keep off the dang windshield. but to answer your question yes you can put any washer fluid you want. the only difference is that the one from the dealer has some alcohol stuff in it to keep it from freezing. i live in Miami so i definately dont need it. i guess if you live very close to the dealer and need other things than go to them otherwise just buy the one from pepboys

i use the rainx one. it rains here ALOT so it helps with that. it also helps with visibility because our wipers are kinda bad. if you have the xenons though (like i do) it kinda gets wasted because you dont really need rainx there. just dont get the cheapest one with the scent because then you have to smell that junk every time you use your wipers. hope i helped
