Getting the shipping wax off new car.

I just got my new MCS and the dealer missed several spots getting that waxy drip stuff under the hood and around the door jams. I found that good old WD40 took it off very easily.

It is not " "shipping wax" it is a rustproofing spray wax that Mini shoots into the areas of the frame after assembly, to prevent internal body corrosion down the line. BTY it will continue to bleed out for quite a while but will stop eventually. It is easily removed. Minis come shipped with a plastic cover, no shipping wax.

Thanks for the explanation. I still don't want it on the painted sufaces but it's good to know that it is in the internal areas to prevent rust.

Since when?

NAM members have been complaining about dripping Cosmoline for a long time.

Here's a link for a photo taken in November at Mini's West Coast processing center. It shows a machine used to remove the wax placed on the cars for shipping.
