I bought my cr/b about a week ago off of the lot about a week ago. I am now realizing the only option i did not get that may be something i want in the future was the lsd. Anyone think a retrofit would work? Probably more expensive than buying from dealer, but i doubt mini usa would install an lsd now. Any ideas appreciated.

 

I don't think it is available yet. but the cost will reasonable like <$2000.

I am also wondering about it. I currently own a Jeep and installed several LS and full time locker into the axles of my'n and some friends and it's not hard if you are mechanicaly inclined and have basic tools. But MINI is not a solid axle truck so it's a different story :( BTW LS for trucks are $3-400

 

I believe Quaife either has, or almost has available a LSD for the R56 MCS. That would in fact be better than the factory LSD. For my Taurus SHO which was a 5speed front wheel drive car, the Quaife cost around 1400 but I installed it myself, not nearly as easy to do on a FWD as a RWD if you ask me. Since you have to split the tranny apart and whatnot on FWD in order to get at the diff.

 

I stuck an RX-7 LSD in Miata from a salvage car I found online. I'm sure you could eventually get one cheap out of a donor in a few years.
