Bigger drink holder? Is there one available for 07-08

Is there any cup holders out there like what was in the older mini. I had an 03 and upgraded to the larger OEM cup holder.

Anyone know if a holder out there OEM or otherwise that will fit a large cup or mug and won't bump into the toggles or 07 or above?

And not talking about a mug that fits but a new or different cup holder, I do not drink coffee but like water and or soft drinks in the car.

There is none like the lovely downtube one that was available on the firrst gen car. I'd get a smaller cup...but that won't work for some. I'm sure something will come out aftermarket, but I've seen nothing mentioned here.

If it's just a slight fitment issue, you can remove the rubber flangy thingy in the cupholder.

Otherwise, maybe your copilot will hold your beverage.

Have you checked between the seats?

I guess I've just never had an issue, the ones in the front fit 20oz bottles of water/soda and the one in the back fits damn near anything else.

I'm sure someone will design one eventually, but I wouldn't hold my breath. There was a much greater need for an aftermarket cup holder with the R53.

I can't believe my first post on this forum, and it's about cup holders! Really, what fits in the cupholder? A 12 oz. soda can? A 20oz. soda bottle? My current ride (99 VW Passat) has dinky cupholders that, in addition to being poorly designed, only hold a 12 oz. soda. However, it's always been my philosophy that one does not purchase a car merely because of the size (or quantity) of its cupholders.

Hoping to get an MC or MCS soon (test driving this Sunday!) since I've been in love with them since they first came out.

I can fit a grande Starbucks, standard soda bottle or a propel water without issue. The large milkshakes from Chick-Fil-A or Jack in the Box are tight, but work.

In short, haven't come across something that doesn't fit yet.

I know exactly the problem with the Passat mine is also a 99 and I've never been able to use the cupholders and it infuriates me I always end up using the holder on the door as bottles seem to fit right in there.

My after-market portable Porta-Potty contains two large cupholders made from Carbon Fiber. I have one in the backseat of my car for long trips.
