On checking about the location of my Clubman S in the production process, I was given the VIN # I have determined the information of the VIN #. MIne is WMWMM33548TP*****.

The first 3 letters are the World Manufacturer Idenfifier (basically manufacturere, make and type of vehicle.)

The next 4 are the vehicle description section (The line, series, body type, engine, etc)

The net couple of numbers identify the type of restraint system on the MINI.

The # before the "T" identifies the model year

The "T" indicates the plant of manufacture

TC=Cooper
TE, TJ=Cooper Automatic
TD, TL, TN=Cooper S
TT=Cooper, Cooper S
TF=Cooper Convertible
TG=Cooper S Automatic
TK=Cooper S Convertible
TP=Cooper S Clubman

The final numbers are the sequential Production #

I have the production # and the VIN#, now all that I have to do is sell my present car and find the rest of the $$ to buy my MINI!

 

i dont know how accurate that is. the only difference in Vin #'s of my two minis are the last few numbers and we have one 07 MCS that is manual and the other one is automatic. when i went to insure my car for the first time as well they told me that the vin # i was giving them was the same kind mini had previously used for the base MC model.
