I drive an 04 MC and my husband drives an 03 MCS. We have a 16 year old and a 14 year old who routinely ride in the back seat, and have taken trips up to 2+ hours long with the kids in the back. I get a week or more worth of groceries in the boot every week and my husband occasionally hauls a MINI full of computers across the state for his job. We wouldn't drive anything else. Haven't taken dual MINIs camping yet, that will be interesting this spring, but we are masters of creative MINI packing...so we'll see!!

Just ordered my '08 MCS to replace a G35 coupe as my daily driver; living in Boston it really does seem like a much more appealing choice. I loved (and will continue to love, for about a month) the Infiniti, but it's definitely time for a change.

Bet you will be surprised how much more you will love the MCS despite's it's occasional quality issues and quirks. I've driven quite a variety of cars before and nothing comes close to my mini cooper.

 

I have a G35 coupe and '07 MCS. Since I bought the MCS in May I haven't really been driving the G35 much. What is odd is that the MINI feels bigger inside and seems to have more usable space. I also like that it is easy to see out of and park. If I had to choose a single vehicle it would be the MINI. Much more practical and usable on a daily basis. The only time it is not so useful is if you want to haul something large or dirty. Most other cars aren't good for that either, and there are trucks to rent or borrow for the large and dirty jobs.

Mine is my only car, though the future wifey has a Sentra for now (maybe a Clubman in the future). Great as a daily driver, and the guys at work seem to enjoy piling in for lunch runs, including the 6'3" guy that likes riding in the back.

 

My wife doesn't drive, so we only need 1 car, the Mini does just fine.
Ikea & all the other furniture stores deliver and trips to Costco are a breeze with the rear seat folded down. We've been doing weekend roadtrips all over the place since we got the Mini, it comfortable & quiet enough for my wife & plenty of fun for me.

Just remember, it's a 2 seater, that'll sit more in a bind, our previous little car (Suzuki Swift) actually had significantly more interior space ... Compared to other 2 seaters, eg. a miata, it has tons of hauling space.

 

I love driving my MCS around town and to/from the train station. If I transfer from a DC job to McLean in a few weeks I'll get to drive it even more and I'm psyched about that.

Critical, useful information if you're wondering whether to go little-car: When that giant painting at the art store or the giant red tool chest at Sears is calling to you, rent a van from U-Haul. They're cheap.

 

I'm a single young woman, and the MINI is all I need. There's still room for all my crap, my boyfriend on occasion, and coworkers who always want a ride out for lunch. I got back in my Alero to move it out of the driveway after I had the MINI a few days and swore I'd never go back.

 

I have had my 03S for over a year and really enjoy driving it for daily errands. When I run to costco I just put the seats down & haul what I need. I have had 2 40lbs bags of potassium for the water softner and all my groceries no problem. It was the day to look like a lowrider

 

We have a MCSC and an '02 Civic. The cabrio is my daily driver, and we actually take the MINI more often on long trips since I'm the one who likes to drive. So far, the only thing I haven't been able to do in the MINI is tote my skis inside it, but it's fine for everything else!

 

Between my wife and I we have the MINI and a 1996 Explorer that her parents gave her in college. If we needed to consolidate to one vehicle I would have no hesitation to go for a Clubman (for the future kids sake) and could probably get by in most cases with a Hardtop. Since she has the X and it is paid for we went for the vert---no regrets--(not counting being unable to hold out for the sidewalk, but that's another story)

 

My main daily driver is the 2003 MINI. Around town I can take the 1973 mini. If I need to haul the "BIG" stuff I take the 1963 Austin mini pickup . If only I had more room I could squeeze another mini in the two car garage.

 

My car is the only car that I own. Eventually I'll get a second car, but it will be another MINI. I love my car!

 

Another solo MINI, here. He's been my only car since '03 and I've never been inconvenienced.

I've also never had a dull commute.

 

It's our only one, too. Of course, ours is really just for fun, really.

I bought an '07 MC in November of '07, my partner bought an '08 MC later that month (had it delivered in late December), then in January I traded my MC for an MCS. Last weeked, we bought an '80 Austin Mini. Needless to say, we just can't get enough MINI/Mini!! If I could find a Mini pickup, I'd get one in a heartbeat.





And yes, they all fit under the carport with room to spare!

 

Yes, my MCS is my only vehicle.

 

The mini is my DD commuter.

I drive the CRX on weekend errands.
It's not up to DD duty right now.

When we visit my wife's parents we normally
take her passat.

If we upgrade her to a clubman we will get the turtle.

There have been no issues with 4 ppl fitting inside.

We do not take it to samsclub with 4 ppl ha ha.

 

we have an 06 & an 08 MC...my 06 started out as my only vehicle and daily driver until a job change but when i am not at work its my daily. My wife just got rid of her SUV for our 08 MC and that is her only vehicle/daily driver and its plenty. For the one or two times a year you might want or need a bigger vehicle you will either just manage or just go rent something. No sense in paying out all that money for a bigger vehicle that you never need.

 

My husband has his own car but the MINI is my daily driver and has been for around 2 years now. I've got no complaints. I even end up hauling a lot of items because I work at a musical instrument store but with the rear seats folded down I've had no issues what so ever.

I do mostly city driving and the gas mileage def. agrees with me compared to my old (but PERFECT!) 1984 Ford Crown Victoria!

(for some reason I could parallel park that Crown Vic easier than the MINI *shrugs*)

My Mini is my main transportation, but I have a few other cars that are for summer only and a bunch of motorcycles. The Mini works great for everything so far in my short ownership experience. Been to VT and Mass. for skiing with 2 friends, been to Pittsburgh on a roadtrip with the girlfriend...so far so good!

 

I had two cars but since I wasn't really driving the Jeep anymore and South Carolina is a rip off state when it comes to registering your car ($613.00).
I decided the MINI was enough, besides the Jeep and the MINI both have the same amount of trunk space.
