R56 I love my new Mini!
I love my new Mini!
So I finally received my Mini Cooper Classic, a exclusive model to Canada. So pleased to finally have a sweet car.
Mostly pleased with the purchase. The car was a little dirty with smudges on the windows and the interior carpet needed a little vacuum. Not a big deal.
There is a little rattle from the left window that is annoying. Usually over small bumps, really strange. Would the dealer look at it?
I also have seat warmers. The lowest setting is extremely hot. Three little lights means max heat, correct?
The turning signals are really strange too. I usually signal in advance so drivers know where I'm going. Problem is that I signal left and then 20 feet ahead the signal goes off because I'm going in a straight line. Is there any way to adjust this? I'm finding that I have to adjust my driving style so the turning signals don't stop.
In addition, 91 grade for the base engine?
Other then those gripes. I'm loving the all Chili Red MINI. Still looking for a nickname that sticks. Pics will be up soon.
Cheers

Yes three lights mean it all the way up. The turn signals have two settings. The first you push a little and they blink three times. If you push them all the way they will contuine to blink until you turn or you have to turn them off if your not doing a complete turn. Yes you want to use 91 grade gas. It will run better and perform better.
) but with time it is all pretty sweet. It amazes me, with the former criticism that floated about on R56 controls, how really superb they are when one get used to them. The center stack has nice ergonomics and once the controls in the speedo are mastered they have great flexibility. Especially w/ a MFSW, the only control I really use for the radio is the central **** right above the climate controls (located conveniently at shifter level). The rest I use for OBC info. Short story...the center stack is great!!!
It's that way with a lot of R56 I think. Little changes with benefits that MINI hasn't promoted nearly enough. The car is very well thought out. I say all this because it in some way does involve the adjustment process, especially for those of us who drove R50/53. The car looks one way from a distance, but once you spend some time with it, it's easy to appreciate what they've done.
As for any issues you may be having...yes, the dealer should address all. I had a piece of belt trim on my R56 delaminate, just like many years ago the AC compressor was out on my '03 R50. The trick is to identify anything that's amiss and let them deal with it as a simple matter of sorting the car out. That said my local dealer's service department is top notch, and if yours is too, you'd have all this addressed in no time and that'll be it.
Happy motoring!!!
