I took delivery of my 2008 MCS on New Years Eve, and was told at that time that they were not able to install the iPod integration install because the software update for the 2008's were not available yet.

So now it's February and I still don't have the iPod cable in my secret compartment due to the update not being available. I've called my MA and the service guy multiple times. The service guy has been saying "We expect it out soon and we'll call you to try to get that in for you next week"...but "next week" hasn't been happening.

Has anyone with a 2008 had a software flash for iPod? Am I just being impatient? I'm pretty sure that others here are driving their 2008's with iPod cables installed.

It is available. We've been putting Ipods on our lot cars for the past 2 weeks.

call again, we have the update available and have been implementing it for a week or so now, though like you said, they didn't work until now.

Well I certainly wouldn't mind more MAs being active here on NAM. Gonna have to recruit someone at Otto's.

 

I called my service guy again, mentioning that I had heard that other Mini dealers have the update, and suddenly I'm good to go now. Appointment for next week.

I have no idea. I was told that before I took delivery they realized that they didn't have the 2008 update for the iPod, only to 2007, so I had to wait.
