R56 Two questions about my 2007 MC
Two questions about my 2007 MC
Hello,
My 2007 MINI was parked in the garage for a few months while I drove my Mother's car. I just started driving it again, and I've noticed two things that I don't remember the car doing (or not doing) before. Is this supposed to happen:
1. When I turn off the ignition with my headlights on, I don't get a warning tone telling me that I left my lights on. In fact, the headlights go out when I turn off the car. Is this supposed to happen? (If it matters, my daytime running lights are programmed to be on all the time so the only difference with the headlights being on is that the interior lights are on too).
2. When I unlock the car with the universal lock/unlock switch, my boot does not unlock (like it did with my 2005 MC). Is it supposed to? I hope so because it's a pain in the neck to turn off the car and take the key out to unlock the boot. But that is what I have to do now.
If these are not supposed to happen, are they simple programming fixes?
Thanks, everyone and Happy Motoring!

Leaving the headlights on is fine they should automatically turn off, the cabin light should also turn off unless you have manually flipped the switch.(can't remember if it will stay on or not)
the unlock button will unlock your drivers door with one click, two clicks should unlock the pass. door. but the boot along with the pass door can be programmed to unlock with one button click. you just need to make a trip to the dealership and they can do it for you.
motor on!!

I just realized that those directions are for unlocking the doors with the key. I'm talking about the lock/unlock switch in the car. You have to flip it up twice to unlock the boot? I seem to remember with my 2005 MC, you only had to flip it up once to unclock the entire car.

Okay, so that's a problem because when I flip the switch up once, everything unlocks except the boot. Very inconvenient. I guess I'll add that to the (short) list for the service dept. Thank you all for your replies.
