Lights blinking when locking car?

In the past, when I unlocked the car the lights blinked twice and when I locked it, they blinked once. I've noticed that lately they don't blink when I lock the car but still blink twice when I unlock it. No big deal but I was wondering if anyone else had this situation.

Are you using the same fob both times? It could be that one fob has the setting to flash and the other doesn't. I believe this is an optional setting that you can change.

Yes, it is definitely programable with the turn signal.

Yep - can set them to flash only with unlock, only with lock, both, or neither. That said it'd be really weird if you are using the same fob and the setting just randomly changed itself...

I just checked with both fobs. Same thing...flashes twice when unlocking and not at all when locking. I also checked and the confirmation signal is set to "On" for both locking and unlocking. Guess that's something else to add to my list of fixes when I take it back for servicing.

I have noticed when trying to set other functions such as daytime running lights, etc., that sometimes the computer will not let me get to the setting. I can try again in a couple of days and it will work.

Hmmm, in that case something definitely seems to be amiss. More of an annoyance than something to be really worried about, but I'd get that checked out.

>>> USUALLY...<<< When your lights are not blinking when you lock it, it means a door/boot/bonnet is not fully closed. The next time this happens, give your car "walk around" and make sure everything is completely closed (this happens for me on occasion when I thought I closed the boot all the way, but didn't). This could also indicate a problem with whatever sensors are used to ascertain if the aforementioned doors, etc. are closed. Hope that helps!

hmm interesting...I'd get it checked out, I know I would. I was looking in the manual and It says you can program it to blink when you lock it and toot the horn. But in my setting it does not give me that option. Anyone else?

Problem Solved!

That was the problem. I checked the tailgate yesterday and it looked and felt like it was closed. When I actually drove the car today the "tailgate ajar" light came on. I opened it and slammed it shut and everything works properly now.
