US Flag Mini :)

Got my flag on today. Back half took longer on the sunroof then the front. My son helped with the back and was distracted by everything but what we were doing.

Came out really good I think

Now to get the Side marker Checkmates on.

That back half must've taken a really long time. Appears you worked into darkness !

Looks very sharp !!

Was that precut to fit the sunroof, or did you have to do some trimming. If so, my hat is off to you... that takes a much steadier hand than I could possibly muster.

Its about 2 inches larger then the sun roof so you have to do some cutting.

It takes some lining up and chosing if you want to lose several stars if its centered, or some of the red bottom stripe and have all 50 stars. I went with keeping all the stars and just trimming the very top.

The front was MUCH simpler with having the doors to stand on, it just glided on in barely 5 minutes. The back half took about an hour ( more because I kept having to lift it and recenter ) my son (12) was having difficulties paying attention.

I REALLY wish they would have cut it to size. Not sure why? I would assume all mini ( or at least 2007 ) mini sun roofs are all the same size.

All in all, nothing really that bad, if I had to do it again, it would take probably less then 30 minutes.

I wonder if you were sold a part for a 2002-2006 MINI?

Is the sunroof the same size for first and second generation cars?

YIKES!

I hope you weren't standing on those shiny sills that have the Mini logo. They are PAPER thin and dent at the slightest pressure. I had to replace the passenger side after sitting on it while working in the fuse box. I don't weight much either (130lb) and not all my weight was on it.

Daylight Picture

Here it is now that its daylight out here.

Its very bright here in Atlanta so there is some glare.

You can almost see the checkmate side markers. OMG what a PIA they were. I may remove the stickers completely and just pop out the chromed plastic insert and paint the checkmate myself.
