I parked mine on the street when I first moved here to Arlington and then I stole a spot in the garage from my roomates and haven't given it up since. While I was worried about parking it on the street, I would probably be more open to doing so after owning it a year and a half. Don't get me wrong, I still love my MINI but I've gotten over the initial crazy obsessive stage and in the end its just a car, a very nice and very amazing car, but still its just a car. Even if it gets a couple dings out on the street the enjoyment you'll get out of driving it is worth the risk!

If you're worried about bumper scratches, you could always get a "bumper badger" (http://www.chariotauto.com).
What neighborhood are you in? I haven't seen that many MINI's where I live.

Cool, guys. All opinions are very appreciated. Seems like I will just let the insurance to deal with it then.

Can't wait to get mine =P

Don't let jerks decide your car choice.
