R56 HIGHEST MPG
Strangely enough, I got 40 mpg on two tankfuls in the Colorado mountains last summer, using Shell gasoline. I don't know if that made the difference, but I can't get Shell here, and average 33 mpg.
We got 43.8 mpg, hand calc'd - not OBC, for one tankful in Utah. Going from Loa Ut to Ely Nv. Most of it was downhill and all of it was moving pretty quick. Passed a sign in one spot that said "Next services 86 miles".
We drove 4000 miles on the trip. Never averaged under 38 mpg on a tank.

I've been getting 40mpg on my MCS going to and from work. It's 25 miles each way on a crowded four lane with only a handfull of traffic lights. We move along at between 55 and 70 mph. I'm at 8000 feet. I run midgrade 87 octane in it. When I run 85 in it the mileage drops to 37 mpg.
I got 38.5 mpg while heading across town on the highway with no traffic. I was pretty chuffed about that.
That average quickly dropped later when traffic built up

midgrade 87?
midgrade 87? What is the highest octane available for you? We have 93 octane midgrade would be 89. I thought the lowest you should run would be 91 in this turbo car.

Just got back from a 800 mile round trip yesterday and logged mileage and hand calc'd the mpg. The obc was saying 31.9 mpg but hand calc indicated 32.9. Was running 89 octane mid-grade and was a mixture of city, interstate and improved 4 lane w/some red lights and heavy traffic. Interstate was at 70-75 mph. Mountains and hills here so was overall pretty pleased.

Running 93 octane I am currently getting 32.5 mpg according to the OBC. This includes Boston rush hour traffic and "spirited" runs. Since I put on my Alta CAI my mileage has increased and is steadily rising

Got 34.5 on the second tank of gas I put in her. That was 85MPH average between Kaiserslautern and Stuttgart, and then hit a Stau (e.g. traffic jam) and drove through the town for an hour looking for another way to the destination. Just driving back and forth to work (about five miles/one way and all city) I get 29. Not bad, but know it would do well on the open road without any traffic issues...
Via OBC, I've been getting 38.5-39.1 on the highway. In the southeast, so rolling terrain without any huge hills or altitude. Usually averaging 75-77MPH. Using 93 Octane (BP or Shell) and usually NO cruise control. I found that it gets behind on the speed and then juices it a bit more than I would like, knocking the MPG down. Once I drafted behind an 18 wheeler for 1 1/2 hrs and drove the average to 40.5.
For the past 6 months, my MCS has been getting 32 mpg on 87 octane. With an average monthly driving of 1-2 autocrosses, 1 rallycross, 40 miles of city/highway daily driving, and I'd guess 50 miles of spirited back roads a month. Considering I thrash this thing more than the average driver, I'm pretty impressed by it.
I managed to get a tankkful of 93 ictane with NO Ethanol in it and got a calculated 45.1MPG out of that tank, averaging 62.3MPH.
It is not uncommon for Romi to get above 40MPG on the road. If I recall correctly, the worst tank was 22.4MPG. All in-town, no speeds about 40MPH with constant start/stops and long times at lights.

40.9 mpg on a weekend trip to Whistler and back (from Seattle), about 440 miles (one tank). That's with two people and a long weekend's worth of luggage in the car.
I work mostly contract positions, so my daily mileage depends mostly on where I'm commuting to. Right now (mostly highway miles) I'm getting 35-38 mpg per tank. Zero complaints about that.

I averaged 40 - 42 mpg before the winter gas came to town. Now I get about 36 - 37 mpg. I drive pretty much all highway, save two nights a week when I take the 30+ miles of twisty back roads home.
My Mother-In-Law is in Kaiserslautern! She is getting to come back to the States though, we think, in January or February. She has been there about two years. She is a civilian who works for the US Army.
Damn, I'm having a hard time staying in the 30s. My best was my last tank at 31.3 calculated. My worst so far was 22 calculated (8 passes on the drag strip, 4 autox runs, but 1 hr drive to the course).
