I have an 07 MCS on order (hopefully coming in the next few weeks). I owned a 2003 Acura RSX Type-S for over 4.5 years (and bought it over the MCS at the time, which was May 03). I'm actually in the process of selling it on my own prior to picking up my MCS - ironically, to a 19-year old.

I agree with most of the assessments here regarding the comparison. The RSX a pretty fun car to drive, it was ultra-reliable (77k miles, no charged repairs, only replaced tires, batteries, and wiper blades during that time), fairly quick, and the interior was pretty nice (leather, auto a/c, nice displays, etc.). I'm not sure if the new Civic Si keeps much of the RSX's touches like what I mentioned, but as somebody who isn't a car-o-phile, I just got tired of pulling up to lights and having everyone try to race me or ask me in a parking lot what mods I made on the car.

I think there's something fun and unique, yet mature about the MC/MCS and esp. now with the RSX being moved back to the more mainstream Honda, I think the kids will run to that car even more ...

Good luck with your decision.

I don't care for the interior on the Si, I was wanting to get a 4-door Si with Nav, but I couldn't deal with the interior. I can't stand the length of the dash and the minivan feel it gave you along with those big a-pillars. I think it's a nice car, but when I drove the Mini I thought it was a hoot to drive and it has a ton of character. I test drove a Mazdaspeed 3, but I didn't want to go back to my SRT-4 days. I hated how the new Ghey Traveler Inside(GTI) drove. I really liked a few S2000's I drove, I actually wonder if I should've got a used S2k instead of my Mini. If I was buying either a Mini or an Si as my one and only car I would lean towards the Si as it's a lot more practicle... but I have a DD and another 4 door toy so it didn't matter to me.

Thanks for all the comments guy. For better or worse, I'm going with the MCS. I really hope I don't have too many build quality/reliability issues.

Great Choice. Let us know how you spec your car, and ask any questions you might have about any option who have doubts about.

If you love your MINI you will be able to forgive it for the little things, like you forgive your girlfriend for the little things.
