So I'm expecting delivery of my new Mini on Saturday. The car is British Racing Green and the roof is the body color. However, my dealer said that it would be possible to have it painted white. I think that would be great but I wanted to open it up to the group to see if you could think of any concerns I might have.

I wouldn't mess with the factory paint unless it was damaged.

There are not enough MINI's with body colored roofs out there. I say leave it.

 

it is possible as long as the painter is good. We actually just had a car ordered wrong and we asked the customer if she would prefer body color which is how it came or white which is what she ordered. She chose White roof on laser blue so we had it piated and it just pulled back up and looks fantastic. You can do it. Ask about the painter though.

Me personally, i wouldn't paint though.

Especially BRG, that color with a body color roof is pretty rare. I would leave it.

 

Leave it. Order white sticker for the whole roof from Aesthetic Creations instead.

 

I didn't order the car that way because I am looking to get a new car fast as my current Saturn is dying.

However, based on your suggestions I think I am going to leave it the way it is.

I like being different and if I can do something else to make my Mini look a little more different I will.

 

Do a roof graphic if you want it to be different. Then if you get tired of the look, simply remove it.

 

I have one in BRG with white roof. My wife hates the roof. Wanna trade?

Hey--wait a minute!

My hubby could have bought a car without my knowledge, as long as it was a MINI. Actually, he did buy a BMW one time (I knew he was looking, but didn't really think he would do it). It was later bequeathed to me, and we sold it to get my MINI-- got 14 years of service, 190,000 miles, no big repairs, interior like new, etc. Well worth it.

 

This is what I was gonna suggest too.....

I do some auto painting and this is sure doable (I know a guy who decided to paint his roof orange as soon as he got it) but just to change to white? If you are gonna go the AC route tho....go heavy and get a custom design....from what I've seen ya ain't gonna get anything cheap so ya may as well get fancy.... (I think someone else also suggested a graphic)

Or, make me an offer for my 07 BRG/White S, tuscan leather, english oak, premium...... less than 3k miles.
