Steering wheel uncomfortable?

I recently purchased an 07 MCS (PW/B) and I am really enjoying the car. I have never even been in a MINI before this one.

Question...

Does the stock steering wheel 'soften' up a bit over time? I'm not sure if it's because I have long fingers or what, but I find the steering wheel a bit uncomfortable after extended driving. It's a bit too STIFF and not very forgiving.

Anyone else feel that way or am I out of my mind?

Do you want a softer (padded) wheel, or more power assist to the steering? Turning the Sport button off (if you turned it on) will add more assist.

Hey Robin, I think just a more PADDED wheel would do the trick.

Sounds like you're in the market for the upgraded JCW alcantra steering wheel. I found the stock wheel too small for my hands as well. Kinda like trying to play tennis with too small a handle diameter. I just bought some Wheelskin steering wheel covers and it feels much better now.

Those look good. Had something similar on my Integra and liked it better than the MINI MFSW surface.

I'm a little confused about the size. Did you use their model info and get a 14 x 4-1/8" cover? I measure my MCS wheel at 14.5".

They list the MCS 2004-2007 as the same.

Did yours fit properly?

Thanks,

Exactly. Great tennis analogy.

I'll look into the JCW wheel. Thanks!
