R56 Are your PDC sensors the color of your MINI?
Are your PDC sensors the color of your MCS w/ JCW Aero?
I'm not so thrilled with the look of the two middle PDC sensors on my bumper (unpainted black dots on yellow). The two sides ones are disguised within the fog light enclosure. I've seen other cars with sensors painted the car color. Anybody have painted PDC sensors from the factory? Or have had them painted?

So, you have the factory aero kit and the two middle sensors came painted. I have the JCW aero kit (installed at VDC).
Can someone with PDC and VDC-installed JCW aero kit confirm their sensors were painted? I'm trying to decide if I should push the dealer to take care of this - it looks wrong.
Thanks,
Pasta

OK so on a 07+ Just a Cooper - with no special kits - does anyone know if the PDC sensors would be on the paint, or on the black plastic part?
This is driving me nuts, its getting close to ordering time, my color choice depends on where these sensors are. I would have thought they'd be on the paint, but now I don't know and the dealership's knowledge isn't to be trusted either.

They're in the black plastic.

That is a shame, they are painted on the R53. Perhaps, if they still come painted on the R53 cabrios (and the part is prepainted from the factory) in the new colors to match yours you can simply swap them out?

Thank you Sowellman!
Nice MY Cooper! I can (barely) see them on yours by enlarging the photo of the rear. I've been looking everywhere for a picture like that, to make sure that they are on the black plastic before I order a PW/B. If they were on the paint, I'm afraid they'd drive me nuts so I'd go with a darker color choice. And I really needed help narrowing down my color choice, it took forever to finally settle on PW/B, if I start all over again who knows when I'll actually order the car.

From what my MA told me, the earlier builds of the R56 had the sensors mounted higher on the painted bumper. The later builds (mine was week 39) had the sensors mounted on the black unpainted plastic of the rear. I'm not sure if they did this so they didn't have to paint them or because it works better. My MA got nervous at delivery because she looked for the sensors higher up and couldn't see them. Mine was the first she saw with them down lower. See:
If that's true, then it was really early builds. My car was built the first week in March and the sensors are on the black plastic.

I guess so. My MA must not have sold a lot with this option.
