K&N or Alta panel filter?

Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone had an opinion on which drop-in filter would be better, the K&N or Alta. They are both priced the same, so it would be a tough call.

I've used K&N in my past cars and been happy with them.

Is there a difference between the foam or fabric?

If I am not changing the intake, I would stick with the regular one. If on the other hand, I was replacing the Intake, I would go with the ALTA CAI

Ditto!
Just curious - why would you be going to a drop in filter anyway ? does it need replaced? There's really no sound (turbo speaking) or performance gains from a drop in.. I mean, it wouldnt hurt anything of course and can only help I suppose, and in that case I'd go with the Alta. ) I'm definitely going with the Alta CAI not really for the performance (though it's nice, and particularily noticeable) but for sound reasons )) More turbo noise!!

The aftermarket drop-in will give you a slight performance gain.....foam will outperform pleated filters over the service time of the filter.
