Avg MPG ~35+
Avg MPH ~40

The biggest variable for mileage is using the brake pedal and slowing down in gear. Don't do either and your milage will be about as good as you can get.

If you buy this car you may burn more gas than your current ride. Not because it gets less MPG than what you drive now but you are going to want to drive it more than what you own now.

If you decide to buy a Mini you will most likely not regret it as this car is one of the most enjoyable, fun vehicles you could own for not a very high admission price.

MCSA at 10,000 miles. 27.5 combined highway and city. My 2003 cooper CVT only got around 27 mpg so I am happy.

Just got back from my girlfriend's: 52.3 mpg for 60 mile trip at 65mph.

550 miles on odo - is anyone else getting this mpg on hwy in a 2007 MCS?

Just saw this in another post:

"you have your language set to British English instead of American English - that messes up the calc - because it's using imperial gallons which are smaller than us gallons."

so need to check my settings - oops if it is set for imperial gallons

Did you shut off the engine and just roll downhill for those 60 miles? Or is it a typo?

Mini Cooper manual.
3,500 mostly rural roads with no traffic.
Calculated average is 40.75 MPG. Mini computer reports about 2mpg higher.

Mine is 0.9mpg higher than actual. I occasionally drive like a maniac but mostly just spritedly and get 30.5-31.5 mpg.

Commute is 60 miles each way. 25 city (30-45mph) 35 Highway (40-75mph) The computer shows 33-36mpg. At fill up it takes 12.8 gallons and the trip says 430-450 miles.

We're averaging about 34 with a 50/50 mix of hwy/city driving. On our last trip from Kansas City to Oklahoma City, we got 38.1 MPG. On the way back we got 40.5 MPG. Averaged about 75 MPH the whole way. If I had dropped it to 70, it would have been a smidge higher.

Over 10700 miles of driving my car has averaged 32.1 mpg. I have logged every tank of gas and kept careful records. I am not a particularly economy minded driver. I just do what feels right, and that includes some use of the sport button and a bit of zipping around in areas where the roads are twisty. There are a few autocross events included here. It's a mix of freeway and surface streets with a few trips up to Colorado. All of my driving is at 5000 feet or above, which probably makes a positive difference in milage.

cheers,

Joe

Picked up at the dealer on Saturday and drove 400+ miles that day and hand calculated 33 mpg when I stopped to fill up with mostly interstate driving 70 to 75 mph. I was very impressed and the salesman said it would probably get some better once it breaks in.

I average 39 on city/highway mix, can get 45 with cruise on during interstate driving.

We get this same post every couple of months. The last time I said thank goodness for the high mileage as oil had just passed 70 a barrel, it's past 90 now and heading for 100.

Is that on an "S" or non-"S"?

I am definitely getting well over 40 mpg with my 2007 "S" at 65 mph.

If I reset the mpg computer on the freeway while cruising, I am sure I will get better than 40 mpg also. I was going up a slight uphill and the current mpg was reading 32mpg. Down hill was like 55 mpg. 1.6L turbo is just amazing.
