Guess I bragged too much about the reliability of my '07. Yesterday all was fine until we started the engine after a dinner stop. Got an idiot light that the DSC was off, as well as another one labeled brake (emergency brake was off). Hubby also reported that the turn signals didn't cancel upon turning.

When we got home (everything seemed to function all right), we shut off the engine and restarted. No lights.

I left 3 call-back numbers to my SA, and no one returned my calls. I'm driving about 200 miles tomorrow. Should I worry?

 

You know the problem already. SZL switch. Will probably take 2-4 weeks for the part to come in.

I think it's safe to drive as long as you don't mind the blinkers not turning off or the occasional wiper wipe when you didn't ask for it. Don't trust me on this though.

I think I've seen 4 or 5 of them here on NAM. There are enough of them nationwide that MINI sent out a service bulletin about it.

 

my mini also has this problem. My car was exported from california to the Philippines. No mini dealer here and i have no f*cking idea what to do to fix it!!!!
