Ahhhhhhhhh

Can I get everyones opinion Please ?

Take a look

Sharp looking Mini, but the mirror caps look really black for being checkered, so think you over spent at $130.

You can ALMOST never go wrong with checkers.

This is one of those cases where you can't go wrong. LOOKS GREAT !

Now, checker that roof and you're in real business !

IMO they would look good if you had something else checkered on the car too ...like a side decal, etc. to tie it all together

Looks great to me!

I've had checkered mirror caps on my 2005 MCS since I bought it, and I love 'em!

Of course, it is personal taste. But I've gotten a lot of compliments on mine as well.

Love 'em, but I'm a little biased Checkered side decal would set it off, I think - I'm going to do that on the advice of CR&PW&JB.

Side note - did you know that CR&PW&JBs first words to his dealer were - "Can I get the checkered/checkered paint scheme?"

Do the APANEL or the rear view mirror for accent. Not sure I would overpower with a full roof.

Looks good to me, but I have plain white.

Pardon ME ?? It certainly was NOT the first thing I asked the dealer !!

It was the second. The first thing was, "If I buy two, do I get one free?".

..coming from another Mellow Yellow owner, I have been on he fence on this one. I am still not sure if I, personally, like it. Maybe like the others have said, I'd like to see other parts to tie it in together... not sure

OK THANKS For the advice e v e r y o n e.

I went with my gut and took em off and put the black ones on. It just didnt look qite right. I know if I had a Pepper white or black MC I think it would go perfect but its the yellow just wasnt made for Checkerd. Maybe some chrome

I agree. Same with the Union Jack and other colorful door handles. I think they'd look great on a Chili or Lightning car, but not on the Mellow Yellow.

But I think the fried egg headlights look like they belong on the MY.

Nah, black and white are neutral colors and go with ANYthing.

Maybe not PW because the creamy off-white would look "off" compared to the pure white of the checkers.

Guess you are right... it looked ok on first look and then something seemed off.
However, different thing would have been for me is it was a Liquid Yellow with checkers.
If I'm not mistaken, BMW once had that scheme on a motorbike (my buddy had one), a K1200RS.
While I don't remember the name of the color, Liquid yellow always reminds me of it. Now that was a hot and matching color combo

Yeah I also thought the white in the checkers wouldnt go with the "off-white" of PW. I am thinking I may do chrome mirror caps later.

Even though you switched them out... I liked the checkers with the yellow

Thats what I thought at first too when we got the checkered mirrors and door handles. But for some reason it doesn't bother me.
I think it would bother me a lot if the white checkers would be pepperwhite... but thats just me.

Hmmmm... I was getting a better look in your gallery and those mirror caps really do look pretty good with PW. So maybe there is NO color that doesn't do well with checkers.

You know, I've often wondered why we don't see more BRG MINIs with checkers. Dark colors especially look hot with checkers.

I have to throw in a word of caution though (that's why I didn't point to my picture):
The photos we took take both whites pretty close to each other, in person the difference is visible.
But maybe its the additional doorhandles that binds it in, rather then having just one point on each side sticking out.

I've been wondering if I could get away with a checkered center rear view mirror on my PW/B...I think the window would help disguise the fact of the different shades of white. Best place to buy these?

Yep, I think it would be fine on the rearview mirror.

mineartg - word of caution. On my R56 with the convenience package, the checkered rear view mirror cover (which I originally ordered) does not fit, due to the garage door opening buttons. It's a dealer add on, and he called me just before I arrived to pick Marvin up last week to advise me about this, after they tried fitting it :(

(Just noticed via the link above, it mentions this. Wish my MA had known!)
