R56 Do you all see the U-joint on the steering column?
Do you all see the U-joint on the steering column?
I was just exploring my MINI today and noticed that the universal joint of the steering column was exposed in the footwell area. Is that normal? I don't think I have ever seen this in any of my previous cars...
If you see a U-joint in the steering column, it means that it broke in shipment and they had to patch the column with a U-joint.
My memory is a little fuzzy on this, but I think I recall seeing a U-joint last time I accidentally got in the car upsidedown with my feet on the headrest. Not sure why I can't recall clearly...

Your kidding right???? I'm guessing your to "young" to remember the "Driver Ed" courses in high school...the movies of "solid" steering columns being driven through the chest of the driver...
