Check engine light

So i got my car over a month ago and about a week ago the check engine ligth went off. I took it to the dealer and they told me they had never seen the code my car was giving them befor. I found this strange but what i found even stranger was that they had to call some other company/devision of BMW to look up the code. It took them 3 day to figure out what the problem was and then when i went to pick the car up today, Friday, once i drove it 20-30 miles the check engine light came one again. They told me the problem was an air flow censor. I was woundering if anyone else is having similar problems with their cars.

This minor problem has been beaten to death in previous posts, it is not a problem , just a software update.

Please explain what you mean by this. Do you mean because it affects so many cars or something else?

Thanks.

The OP is obviously new, so be gentle. I agree it is easily resolved with a software update. I had this performed on my wife's '07 MC. Problem solved.

It's a big problem to someone who has just paid tens of thousands of dollars for a car that is indicating engine problems. It is a minor problem for the service tech to solve at this issue, but it is a major inconvenience for someone who just bought a new car thinking it would be more reliable than an old car. Sorry, but the MINI just isn't as reliable as it ought to be and is close to the bottom of Consumer Report's reliablity scale.

The MINI is the first car I've had where I was motivated to buy an extended warranty, and it has more than paid for itself in the first of 4 years of extension. I was hoping that the R56's would be better, but apparently not.

Ok, that being said, It's the most fun car I've ever had.

That sounds rough. It must be something different than what I had, because my CEL was on solid and the manual says it is okay to drive unless it is blinking.

Did the software upgrade take care of it?
