Is it Week 36 yet?

Well after lurking on this site since May, visiting MINI of Towson nearly every weekend comparing MINIs and wearing out the configurator, I finally sat down with my MA Evan (excellent service and very patient) on Monday to write up my order.
Will be spending many sleepless nights waiting for my MCS. Spec'ed as follows:
CR/B
Bonnet stripes
Rear fogs
Crown spokes
Sunroof (the only option I never questioned)
Sport package
Anthracite headliner
Carbon Black Lounge Leather (don't even think of eating in the car!)
Chrome line Interior
Piano Black Interior Surface
Rooster Red Color Line
HiFi Upgrade
Comfort Access
LSD

As of right now, the Owner's Lounge still has my S listed as an Astro Black so I guess I'll have to wait a while before I can start stalking it. I get the feeling it's gonna be a long, long summer.

Bill

Week 36 is not far off, especially since you just placed your order. My MA tells me to expect mine to go into production in week 36. I ordered it 6/30/07 (yeah in June). I had to wait nearly 1 month just for the dealer to get in the allocation.

Hi Andy,
Dang, you're a lot patienter(copyright) than me! Looks like we'll be build buddies. So if the MINIs are set to be in production the first week of Sept.,when can we expect them to hit the dealers' showrooms?

This is a bit off topic, but how long does it usually take for a car to get a production week? Ordered mine 7 days ago and its still in order status :(

Strange. We ordered ours this past Saturday and it immediately went into production the following Monday!

I placed my order on Monday(6th). Wednesday, my MA e-mailed me a copy of the order and it had my production number plus the following:
Req Prod 2007/09/36
Sub Prod 2007/09/36
Conf Prod 2007/08/35
Quota 2007/9
I translated that to mean I'm week 36 production.Right?

I just went to the Owner's Lounge to track the car and it has magically transformed from the Astro Black it was last night to Chili Red today. I guess it changes color when it ripens.

That depends on if you are on the East or West Coast of the US and what options, if any, that you ordered that need to be installed at the VDC or the dealer. If you are on the East coast, I believe the time on the ships is something like 9-12 days, the West coast is a minimum of 21 days to reach US soil. After that anywhere from 3-10 days at the VDC. Then count in the time for the trucking company to truck your Mini from the VDC to your dealer. Take a look at people's signatures, many of us include information on the progress of our Minis as they were being built. This should help give you an idea as to the wait times.

This depends on the dealership. Each dealership is allotted so many build slots per month and they may have also have a waiting list. I've heard of some people going to the dealer, placing their order and getting a production number before they left the dealership and having their Mini's in production the following week.

In general, for the East coast, you should expect about a 4-6 week wait from the time you place your order until the time your Mini makes it to your dealer. For the West coast, it can be anywhere from 2 to 4 months. I was just shy of 3 months on mine.

The wait is well worth it though, good luck!

Your MA should be able to tell you. The week number is based on the week of the year that your Mini is scheduled to be completed, not when it starts production, but when it is finished. They take approximately 1 week to be born from the time they start production.

I am on the west coast and my MA said it would probably be here the first week of October or the last week of September. I am getting the driving lights installed at the port so that might delay it a little.

Mine's also scheduled to be 'born' week 36... the wait is killer! You know you've made the right choice however when you've had no less than 3 dreams about driving the car since ordering and are debating exactly how many test drives the dealership will let you go on

I'm in the midwest, the most optimistic delivery estimate I've gotten so far is third week of september... most pessimistic second week october.

SS/B, B bonnet stripes
Crown spokes
Sport package
Premium package
Cold weather package
Ipod Adapter
Impatient owner package ( )

Mine still is just scheduled for production "with no confirmed production date".

The wait is hard but since there is no choice, it's not a big deal. I could have bought one off the lot but I can wait to get it configured just the way I want.

That's the spirit. It's probably no consolation, but I put in a deposit last October and didn't get my car until the middle of April. I was willing to wait for the new model, rather than get an '06.

My Mini is now in production. Scheduled to be completed 8/24.

I guess this puts me in week 34.

After reading your post, I went to the Owners' Lounge hoping for a change in my status. Alas, I'm still in "on order" mode.

Anyone have any updates? I'm still at "scheduled but no confirmed date." My co-workers are getting a kick out of my routine morning call to 866-ASK-MINI. Despite the numerous check-ins, I'm actually gaining patience... I think I'm realizing the wait is far and beyond worth it, and may make me appreciate this awesome car that much more. .

I feel your pain.Still no change for me either. I did try talking to a real person at 866-ASK-MINI for the first time today but he still had the same answer as I received in the O.L.

Where in the Owner's Lounge can you check the order status? I can't seem to find it.

After you sign in, the welcome screen pops up with a picture of a MINI. Under the picture is a line that reads "Where's your Baby?". Click on the "Track your Baby" line beneath that.
