I took a three more pics today and added them to my online album. I'll post two of them here.

This first one shows the Piano Black on the door fairly well.

and this one shows the Black Punch Carbon Leather upholstery choice so that you can see the "punches" in the leather that run down the back, they are also on the seat of the seat.

I have placed a small MF cloth in Demi so I'll have it handy to wipe off any smudges on the piano black trim pieces. Yes, the MOCD is turning into a full fledge case of OCD.

Love the pics of Demi!! Congrats!

And I think being OCD is almost required, isn't it? It suits MINI-ownership well, anyway!

Yes, it does, I'm thinking of keeping a bottle of Z-6 (the Zaino QD spray) in the boot too.

Gary,

You new car looks great. Funny that you got to drive your wife's car up to Portland and the new one back. Hogging all the fun, I'd say.

When your mother-in-law gets her car, you could invite Seal over and the four of you will already have the start of a Eugene club.

From your gallery photos, I see you also made a trip toward Junction City. Next, you'll be motoring to Harrisburg.

Thanks. LOL, yes, we would, but my mother-in-law lives up in Vancouver, WA. We joked around on Friday that now there will be 3 Minis in the family, enought to pull of the Italian Job .

In a way it was kind of funny too, my mother-in-law said, "I'll take what Gary ordered, but in black" . She ended up not ordering any stripes or the contrasting roof, mirrors but otherwise she did pretty much order the same specs as Demi.

That way, she can object when they ding her for Washington's sales tax. Hey, wait a minute, I told you to give me what Gary had. His didn't include that bill. See, maybe she should move to Eugene for a while, after all.

Hope you get a finder's fee.

I guess they weren't gentle with my car. They didn't have the warning sign on my windshield, although I did see it on other cars in the parking area upstairs. Maybe that's the extra prep work, taking it down.

Well, since you mentioned it, the Oregon/WA thing did come up while placing she was placing the order but she did the legally correct thing and didn't use our address for the registration.

It was probably an even easier sale for Dan than mine was, I filled out the order sheet for her and answered all of her questions. I even knew the option pricing off the top of my head for what she was wanting. .

In regards to the warning sign. Dan said it was worth something like 15,000 . I kept him late on Friday to take the delivery. When I went to drive it out of their holding area I made a comment about removing it from the windshield. He asked me if I wanted to keep it and I said sure.

Rasmussen did a fantastic job with her, she was rushed through their process because Dan knew of my scheduling difficulties and that I was so very excited to take possession of her.

It is still hard to believe I actually have my own Mini now. It's going to be a killer dropping her off on Monday morning to have the clear bra installed. I won't be able to her back until Tuesday or Wednesday (the installer is fitting her in so it may take a bit).

I've found myself having a perma-grin whenever I take her out for a spin. Admittedly I've been reluctant to do so until the clear bra is installed.

Is there any news on the September motoring get together for the Roseburg area Minis? I'm looking forward to joining you all on the trip.

Thanks for sharing your fun with all these neat photos. It is also fun to know your mother-in-law is getting a MINI, too.

Are you having the clear bra installed in Eugene, or by the dealer in Portland?--if in Eugene, who do you recommend? By the way, nice car!

I assume that is as in demigod, rather than demimonde.

I'm getting it installed at Auto Trim and Signs on West 11th. They installed the Venture Shield on my wife's R53. They did a great job with it so that's where I'm going for mine.

It'll cost approximately $600 for the completed coverage of the front (upper and lower grille, bonnet, head and fog lights, and mirrors). The product has a lifetime warranty and the installer has a lifetime warranty on the installation. So basically, if I have any problems with it, it is covered. The dealer installed (well third party install actually) runs $895 from Rasmussen and it only has a 5 year warranty.

The BMW dealer here in Eugene had recommended Auto Trim and Signs to us when we were looking around for an installer for our R53. You can find more information on the Venture Shield website.

I'm also having them put in our the doors (we did this with the R53 as well) to help with dings since they get parked in parking lots quite a bit. That will cost about an extra $50. It goes up to just under the mirror so there is a slight line going across the door but you only notice it if you are up close, at least with the Jet Black. Supposedly black shows the lines the most.
