Red strip on top of Tach?
Does the red strip on the top of the Tach serve any purpose? Does it light up when you red line or is it just for aesthetics?

I believe it's for the alarm.

PARTSMAN is right...that light will pulsate if you have an alarm and if it is activated.

It's on page 24 of the owners manual, and as PARTSMAN and gokartride confirmed, it's for the alarm system.
