I've heard cute so many times I started joking back that my &*()) was shrinking! Most of my lady friends laughed back. My Porsche buddies calling it a chick car lasts till they drive it.

 

"Boss" was out of style by the late 1960's. It was an early '60s term, at least in the Los Angeles Junior High School I went to.

so far 2 people have called my car cute. My state farm agent and my loan agent. i got the dark silver and black top so it wouldnt be called cute.

the other day in traffic some little girl( like 3 years old) sitting in a car next to me yelled out "miniiiiii", now that was cute.

 

What's your SF agent's name ? I'll have a talk with him (and tell him every time you come into the office, to call your car "REALLY CUTE").

Must be cute, and as unixgal said must be attractive. I pulled into a parking lot a few nights ago and 6 girls all stopped talking at once, turned their heads and batted their lashes at us. I looked the other way to see if Brad Pitt had come out the shop behind me.
I got the 'oh it's cute' as soon as my good feminina friend saw it.

 

The cute comment used to realy **** me off, but I got over it. I understand there are a lot of people who just don't know what it is, or what it will do. So now when they say "cute car" I just say thank you.

 

After reading this forum lastnight I was at work showing my car to a friend and 3 co workers walk out (females) race to the car and all go ohh your car is sooooo cute. I shout its not cuuuttteee LOL. LOL well maybe itll get me the ladies

It's like having that little puppy and all the girls come up and just have to put their hands all over it. Good conversation starter. If a guy says it, I might question their motives!

Well everyone of the female gender I have showed my car to so far automatically likes it and calls it cute. Just cant seem to avoid it. Then they go onto to say that they never expected me to pick such a cute car Guys are usually skecptical about it, but then they go for a ride

 

I finally took delivery on my MCS last night, and all day long at work today it became the standing joke to call my car cute whenever someone saw me. I mean this went on all day long! BUT, the real truth came out when someone told me as they were walking in this morning there were about 15 people that had just stopped and gathered around my car giving it a good stare down! In fact, when I was leaving, several people that did not know me stopped and told me that they were admiring my car earlier. Mini - there's nothing quite like it!

 

Nope, nothin' quite like it.

I pick up my son at summer camp every afternoon around 5:40. Well, the kids in camp have figured out that I'm pretty punctual, within about 3 minutes.

So... they line up every day at the fence and when I pull into the parking lot, they start yelling, MINI COOPER MINI COOPER MINI COOPER MINI COOPER........!!!

 

It's a cute car. Nothing to do, but live with it.

So, cute is gender specific? Examples:

Sister: Wow, this is such a cute car!
Daughter: Yea, it's pretty cute!
Mother: How adorable! She is just YOU
Neighbor lady: How gorgeous. If I were 20 years younger, I'd have one too!

Brother: Dang. This thing reminds me of my Turbo Golf! Sure hauls ***.
Brother-in-law: Hauls ***. Let's take her out again.
82-year-old Father Car Fanatic: If I could still drive (macular degeneration), I'd get one tomorrow.

This is quite common. I tactfully counter with how fast it is and then end the conversation with something like: "So, I be running this cute little car right up your $#!@". And, I havent been slapped yet!

 

While I understand its something to live with, I do not consider my car to be "cute". My wife's Chili Red MC, yes. Mine? No.

This joke was contrived by one of my co-workers, and everyone else went along with it because of the dramatic swing from the other side of the spectrum from which I came, having dumped my Lincoln Navigator for this car. I'm 6'3" with an athletic build, and most of these guys have always known me to drive a big SUV because of the comfort. Also keep in mind that I'm smack dab in the middle of "pickup" country. There's a certain mentality around here that will never change. But, with that said, I caught several of them commenting on how cool my car was when they didn't know I was within earshot.

P.S. I will never agree that my car is cute!

 

I work in the motorsport business, oval track to be precise. So the first day I showed up with my 07 MCSa I got the "cute" from several people. I know how to turn left so I took one of those Doubting Thomases for a ride while others watched. First on the half mile oval then on the road course we have set up on the infield. YUP his seat was brown when he got out. The only reason I didn't really take him for a ride was the seat belt was too loose and I kept sliding around in the seat. Fixed that with a gripper. Anyhoo....... He along with others have become believers. When someone asks me about the car my stock answer is "IT'S A GO CART ON STEROIDS WITH ALL THE CREATURE COMFORTS AND IT GOES LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL!!!!! As soon as I get rid of those run flats and get some performance tires things will only get better.

Yeah, I got the cute word four times today and I've only had the car since Tuesday night.

Also got a neighbor that couldn't believe we all piled out of the Mini. She thought it only had a front seating area I guess.

 

itll be a week from friday that ive had mcs i havent gotten cute once. people ask me if i feel like james bond driving it haha...ive gotten this is a classy car..and all the girls love it..my 03 cooper (indigo blue and white) i got " o thats a cute car" alot

Pretty much everyone calls my car cute. I don't care. I have to admit it is one of the cutest cars I have ever seen.

 

When did the adjective "cute" become a defamatory statement? I think it's a compliment no matter who says it, even if it's in a sarcastic manner. Now if someone calls it "rice", then we've got a problem.
