From: Wilmington area.
Found another mini on my beaten path with white... Finally met Buzzby's brother's owner, and realized how well the white trim suited him.
And I have realized that I will never be incognito anymore: that holds true for any color, I am sure.

I'm waiting for Mini to come out with a lineup that features only variations on a shade of silver. That way, the dealer can put up a wheel of fortune wheel, customers can spin it and whatever shade of gray comes up, that will be their choice.

I just ordered yesterday and have spent way too much time going back and forth on the wheel color - have exact same color combo as you except didnt get the white stripes - so glad to see it 'real' and to hear that you love it... My MA said had seen white color tires come in with a yellowish stain - have you had any probs with discoloration? appreciate your help as I now wait.. I am week 36!!
thanks!

Of all the new cars I have bought, 3 have been red, 1 pearl orange and 1 black. None of these were metalic. I prefer a non metalic paint colors as I think there is more depth to the shine. Most car companies have slim pickings for non metalics. This is another nice thing about mini, 4 choices for solid colors and the white is one of the best I have seen. I'll agree though all the colors on a Mini look good. I am very happy with my choice of OB/black though.

Well i went between AB/W or BRG/B, and I ended up choosing the Astro Black and white roof and white wheels, I think it was quite classy and I dont see those colors together often on a mini. Also my mini has entered production!

I went to the dealer and said that I want a MCS and I want to try to stay under $XXX.xx payment. I told them the colors that I liked and yellow was the only one that I said I had no desire to purchase. I soon realized that the colors that I originally wanted were either not as striking as I thought they would be or they just didn't look like I pictured. I like them, but they just weren't doing it for me. I also couldn't find one that was set up like I wanted. The one that I thought looked the best and fit in my budget was a mellow yellow/black without the stripes. I didn't realize how good MY/blk looked until I saw it in person. Now I happily drive a yellow car.

Welcome to the club. I never thought the early photos looked very good. THe color either looked washed out or too neonish. I love how it looks in person.

Post some photos of your car in the Mellow Yellow club thread.

Well I hate to admit it, but I took my wife with me to pick out a mini. She loved the sparkling silver, redwood interior, MCS etc. The problem is that I drive it and when I decided to add lights, stripes etc. she thought it would ruin the car!
Well I don't know if I'm the first to trade one in after 2 months, but I'm trading out for a Mellow Yellow, hyper sport pkg, LSD, DSC, Mellow Yellow color line interior, premium pkg, stripes, fog lights, anthracite interior, NO leather, and I'll upgrade to after-market nonRF 17 inch wheels once I empty my pockets some more. This car cost less than the first one, and it's at the dealers now getting the wheel well trim painted in Mellow Yellow.
So word to the wise... get what you want the first time, and it's not always easy to find someone to do the after-market products unless you have someone in your city that does this or you're feeling brave with a new car!

I got the "Cool Blue", and have never regretted it for a second. I think it's still MINI's only pearlescent colour, and I'm constantly amazed at how the colour changes depending on the time of day and the available light. Sometimes it's bright blue, other times it's almost a steel-grey, and if the light's just right, there's even some gold in the paint as well. Plus, since it's a cabrio-only colour, I don't see it as often as I do most of the other colours.

Now, if I had my choice from among all of the MINI colours (current *and* discontinued), I might have been tempted by the Solid Gold or Black-Eyed Purple, but of the available 2006 colours, there was no contest for me.

Now, if we're talking about aftermarket paint, I'd probably go with House of Kolor's "Burple" candy over a silver basecoat, "Cobalt Blue" candy over a silver basecoat, or "Organic Green" candy over a gold basecoat.
