Did it actually turn out looking ok?

I suggest, if you have not already, taking a trip (if possible) down to your local MINI Dealer and seeing the colors and combos in person. I was sold on Chili Red/White Roof via the Configurator on MINIUSA, but when I went to the dealer and saw the Mellow Yellow - game over.

I was looking at the Sparkling Silverw/Blk roof or Britih Racing Greenw/blk roof before i even went to my local dealership. But went in the showroom sat in a Mellow Yellow w/blk roof and though it was very nice.

Sat down with my MA and told him I had to have Xenons and Sport Pkg. And he had a few but the only one with both was the MYw/blk roof in the showroom I said Ill take it! Could not be happier

THEY ALL LOOK GOOD!!!

I think the problem is that ALL the colors look great! I was set on CR/ B with bonnet stripes, but do to extenuating circumstances I was forced to get one off the lot. They didn't have one like the one I speced, but they had my CR/ W with the same packages I wanted. They said they'd put the stripes on, and I said "No! Its PERFECT!!!" If I had an endless supply of money I'd probably have a whole fleet in different colors I've already decided the next one will be AB/ AB, JCW, and entirely blacked out, but I have a good 5 years to sleep on it

For me, yellow... Ever since I watched Mr. Bean as a little kid, I've been absolutely enthralled with his car. Now that I'm buying my first car, it wasn't even a choice, yellow mini. I'm not going so far as to modding the hood up black or anything.

(and yes I know Mr. Beans mini isn't really yellow, but it looks pretty close to it anyways :p)

I built my MINI months in advance BUT toiled over the color combo up to the last minute. My original gut was PW/PW, I had HB/HB in for the last few weeks then went back to PW. My gut was right.
I think the best solution is put your nose to the grindstone, rake in some serious cash and buy two.
I haven't met a MINI color I didn't like.
.. if I were buying today it'd be a OB/OB if MC or SS/SS if MCS.

Ya, I'm thinking down the line I'm going to buy a second and it'll be an mcs when I can afford it. Probably Blue with White stripes.

Yes and no

I never tire of red, in both in small cars and motorcyles. But after my CR/CR MCS arrived a few weeks ago I found it a bit flashy and briefly regretted not ordering DS/DS.

But after driving awhile in traffic I am more comfortable with the color. I've decided flashy is ok because it may draw the eyes of the drivers with an ear glued to a cell phone.

Ask yourself what you would really love...if money was no object?

Ask yourself what you risk regreting more....spending the $450, or not getting the color you really wished for?

Then if you're really clever....have your wife pick the color and forget about it.

I thought of that too, but then I figured it also may attract the police, so I went with DS/B

My only regret was that I didn't spend the extra money for the self-cleaning option.

I've not met many folks....actually, no one....who regret the color choice of their MINI. What seems more common is that their first choice of color either wan't available in the MINI model they wanted, or it was an outgoing/retired MINI color. This is where most of the regrets lie.

I have never heard anyone say that they regret their choice. many, myself included, continue long after they get their MINI to enjoy other color combos. I love my Darksilver and Black MCS, if i were to do it again i would change it up. maybe a black and white, I think that would look pretty classy

Uggghhh you're exactly right!! The first Mini I fell in love with was a turquoise-aqua-y metallic blue that they have since replaced with Laser Blue. So, I got my 2nd choice color, though it's still the one I love most out of the set.

Color choice is a very subjective thing. Some like the classy look of a black car, others like the bold and enticing hues of yellow. Point is...no matter what you choose, pick the color that feels right for you.

With that being said, there are countless options and accessories to set your new ride apart from others. There are simple mods like wheels and window tiniting, to adding bodykits like the Aero or JCW kit. There are also chrome accessories, vinyl decals and a very large list of engine and interior modifications.

My advise, just go with your gut feeling, it never lets you down!

unless of course your gut feeling was to buy as many beanie babies as possible because clearly they would make you hundreds of dollars in a few years.... then it would have let you down

Don't mock the beanies. I actually do know one person who made money on them. She got out early

That was Electic Blue, which is one of my favorites, too. When I got my first MINI it was only available on MCSs so at the time (2003) I got an Indi Blue Cooper (which I loved...very classic).

Fast-forward to 2007 and I needed another MINI and guess what...Oxygen Blue became available and I swooped one up!!!!! I'm very happy as the planets somehow aligned with all the MINI colors coming and going....when I needed it, I somehow got what I wanted...and it's even non-metallic!!!! Someone at MINI loves me!!!

Color was the easiest decision for me and the more I look at it the more I love it. It's great when that happens.

OB/W is my color..haven't looked back. In fact, I swooped her up (like Gokart) about a year before I was planning to buy because I "knew" in my gut that OB could be discontinued at any minute. I fell hopelessly in lust with OB, while I simply love the other colors

Yeah. Get the white turn signal package for $100. Makes a huge difference with almost any color and you cant beat the price. I am still kicking myself. That is me of course.

My first chioce was S/S, but I had always admired the P/W. I did choose P/W...thought it was more visible on dark rainy nights and also used the bucks to get D.S.C. Hard decision, but figured if I liked them both, I would go with P/W.

Eliminate the colours you don't like. Eliminate the colours that people would say are not YOU. Whatever choices are left, do a Google image search or look in these forums at the R56 pictures, and eliminate the ones you don't like from that. Envision yourself in the car in one of the remaining colours, and see if you can narrow the choice down further.

Colour was my hardest choice. I did all the above, and nailed it down to CR/B. And I ordered DS/B. Becase they had that combo in the showroom when I went to order, and I could not resist!
